Downtime. In use ecigs drain power from the battery faster than it can be charged, and draw more current than a USB charger can deliver. So it's easier to just keep an extra battery or two on hand so you can just rotate them out.
That said, a single battery usually lasts me a whole day unless i'm chainvaping.
If you have a fuckton of 18650 batteries anyways, may be worth the investment to get a battery bank for them.

When the battery drops below a certain voltage, it might not be able to output as much as you want it to. Depending on your setup your cig will usually draw anywhere from 5 to 25 amps and charging with even two amps would be way too slow, plus it's a lot clunkier to carry while charging form a power bank. Swapping out a battery however is easy, doesn't make it clunkier and putting it in a charger at home is also convenient.
I even made a quick illustration for you, I tried to draw at 60w but the battery is too low to supply enough to make it happen.

That's what is stated but I feel like I get more. Honestly the Ruizu isn't bad. The sound quality on the X3 rivals $300 Fiio's though (same internal components). I got a refund on my X3 which probably gives me a rose-tinted view on it.
Dekatron clock. This is one of the coolest projects i've seen in awhile just because of how simple it is. It keeps track of time using the frequency of the power line as ticks of a clock that the dekatrons as counters. No other logic involved.

Trying to figure out where best to source dekatrons and nixie tubes. Not sure if /csg/ is the best place to ask because as far as i'm aware most of what's available is new old stock coming out of eastern europe, and it's looking like the best way to get ahold of these things is to just keep an eye on ebay for a deal.

Nixies run at ~160V, you can find many different ways of making a power supply for them. There are also nixie drivers that are in a dip, 74141. I think only one company made them. They can be found fairly cheap.

Go for it. Make sure to rockbox your xDuoo using XVortex's guide. You will have to format the microsd cards to fat32 with 4096 bits/bytes (I forget which, will be apparent when you go to do it) in order for the cards to be used with the X3.
