jmp short tmp
hello:
popq %rsi

pushb $14
popq %rdx
xorq %rdi %rdi
incq %rdi
syscall
pushb $60
popq %rax
syscall
tmp
.asciz "Hello, World!"

This is the shortest possible x86_64 hello world since it uses pushb, popq and xorq, incq to reduce what would be move instructions from 9 bytes to 3, it also puts the string in the .text section along with the code and pushes it's address onto the stack as the return address with the call instruction which is then popped into rdi. It's allowed to get away with this because it uses the exit syscall instead of returning from the function.

Disgusting. My head hurts just looking at this garbage.
