Are people still hosting BYOC LAB parties?
>>
do you mean LAN parties?

now they do dreamhack which is like the comicon of lan parties

in the next 5 years all gaming computers will just be seen as minecraft machines intended for toddlers to play with due to industry trends skewing to a younger and younger demo

Less common than during the 90's and early 00's, but sure. People are still hosting them.

Is there a network to find local LAN parties?

Would I get laughed at for my 4790k+7870? I'd kick the shit out of those puny insignificant NERDS

I help organize a LAN party with 1000+ BYOC participants twice per year.

rflan?

Pretty sure you could google that. Not a whole lot of good choices these days since the amount of games that actually support LAN that people would actually WANT to play on LAN hasn't increased since about 2007.
>>
Of course. There's a pretty big one in my area (100+ players) and if you don't reserve a spot on the day they open the sign-up then you probably won't get in. Despite being huge it's extremely laid-back. People share their whole drives, there's always that guy ironically watching porn between games and the admins usually only kick people caught cheating.
I hear they will have a 10Gbps link to the outside this year, I'm hype as fuck.

>that one kid with his hoodie on
>that one girl that shouldn't be there
>pete hines i the background
>that guy taking pictures infront of cutie just to creepshot her
>that guy that looks over his buddies shoulder
can you spot them all?

Where? What's the name?

I help set up a LAN party twice every year.

Problem is, if you're running tournaments, a lot of the people that come to ours only care about League of Legends and then when they lose they get butthurt and go home.

Prizes for other tournaments are also a difficulty, as sponsors are hard to come by and funding prizes out of pocket is difficult.
