>Arch Linux or Gentoo, which one should I install to replace my LFS partition and play some steam games?
ubuntu, frogposter
timesinks are for 14 year olds who haven't yet dropped out of college but aspire to do so one day
internet hipster cred is a lie, they'll hate you no matter what

Install gentoo

this.
Arch so you don't have to wait an hour for Firefox to compile
Neither of them are really worth your time to just dick around and play steam games, unless you're just doing it as a project. If you want to treat this as an opportunity to learn something about linux, then go for Gentoo. If you're looking for something to actually use day to day, use arch. I've used arch for about a year and a half now as my main OS, not because I'm an internet hipster, but because I personally prefer it.

Use fedora, it's derived from RHEL and even Torvalds himself even uses it
>>55004886
Gentoo is better than arch in every single way apart from the speed at which you can install new packages
>>55004886
Arch, gentoo is nearly impossible to install. Arch has a fairly easy install assuming you can read.
source: I'm a college student who runs arch

good job matey-oh, canonical has deposited five cents into your amazon account

Nobody on Gentoo actually compiles Firefox, thats what Firefox-bin package is for.
OP here, I went for comfy arch as I decided to keep my LFS partition. bootstraping from LFS was breeze, it's great how everything just werks in arch
/g/ told me to install gentoo, so i installed debian, and my life has been easy ever since.
never listen to /g/

remember op, the choice is yours
>Company
>support
>businesses
>right attitude
or you can choose
>obscure
>timesink
>college
>edgefag
It all depends on why you want to get into linux. Do you want to accomplish a business task and do something, or just rice and jack off?

Are you retarded? The gentoo handbook describes every single step that should be taken.

gentoo is the ultimate enlightenment
