Reaper is being ported to Linux right now
how does it feel wincucks?
>>54981100
What even is a reaper? If pic is related it looks like only faggot DJ wannabes would use.
>>54981100
first things first, nice dubs
I've used fl too long to care
also piano roll
You could say it's a start.
Too bad that start came about a decade too fucking late.
Setting up a Linux machine with the most basic setup like audio-interface, a midi device like a keyboard, getting the drivers to work for in and output with LOW latency AND having a working digital audio workstation has either always been a massive pain in the ass and/or only partially working or not working at all.
It's like the Linux community always cared more about compiling code instead of being creative with music and graphics.
I'm just massively disappointed.

It's the best audio creating/editing software that ever was. Yes, it's what wannabe djs would use, except real djs use it, too, because it's simply the best.
>>54981100
I don't know what that is.
>>54981100
Bitwig has been around for a while and supported Linux, OSX and Windows since their first alpha release. Why should I care about that aged looking piece of software?
Reaper is for those who are too poor to buy or too retarded to pirate Ableton.
>>54981100
What's a good video editor usable on Linux then?
Is there any powerful DAWs that respect my freedom?
Well, it's a start
>tfw non-free cuckware is what takes for a platform to become successful in the normie world
Why does it have to be like that.
Will it stop at creativity software?
What about audio latency of pulseaudio?
Was it fixed or is it still an issue?
>>54981800
>Yes, it's what wannabe djs would use, except real djs use it
>throwing producers and DJs in one pot again
>still smart enough to breath and shit
Astonishing
>>54981820
Because Bitwig is a bad joke
>>54981835
Ardour
>>54981850
>or is it still an issue?
If it's still an issue than they can just stop right here.
They either take on this immense clusterfuck or just fucking shove it.
But I bet they're just fucking naive and think the Linux audio infrastructure is fine to use as it is.
There's no fucking hope.
>>54981898
Sure you know better than sound and software engineers working on Reaper.
>pic very replated
>>54981800
logic, pro tools, and ableton would like a word with you
>>54981850
>>54981898
Forget about it. It wants JACK.
To everyone intersted, you can throw this project into the garbage.
It's a shitty port from Wintendo, just like the OS X version.
Have fun getting your firewire audio interface working in linux without everything crashing every 5 minutes. I know, because I tried to get a DAW going in Linux. DAW software is not the main issue here.
>>54981100
>Not Ableton
>Not PT
Not news.
>>54981100
>Reaper with Pulseaudio
>>54981959
Of course it uses JACK, what else should it use?
>>54981100
Uh, well, congratulations I guess? Would be nice for you guys to get some more market share, could possibly make Linux a more viable platform.
>>54981100
Good. I want people to switch to Linux more so I can at a later date when it's more mature software-wise.
>>54981100
nothing, we're all using archlinux and our uncle work at nintendo too
>>54981800
It's literally shit. You know that right?
>>54981100
It's useless without the high-quality virtual instruments and effects. If I have to use a workaround like WINE, I might as well just stick to Windows and enjoy the full compatibility and OS integration.
the two things i'm still missing are
>proper aaf importing
>destructive, in-place FX rendering, resembling the PT Audio Suite
