Have you ever been hacked?
>>
>>54979037
Why yes, I once left my facebook logged on in Apple store and they left message on my timeline.
>>
Have you ever been a Cheeto puff
>>
>>54979037

Yes
>>
>>54979037
somebody took control of my computer as i was using it once. installed some fishy shit, freaked out and yanked the plug when it happened.
>>
Somebody stole one of my old emails, don't understand why though
>>
no, but once there was this hosting manager that told me he disabled my account because someone hacked me and ddossed something, so he forced me to change my password.
>>
I was on a public network and had PostgreSQL running on my laptop for development.
Some random chinese IP logged in over SSH using postgres:postgres over SSH and started to send spam mails.
I noticed the CPU activity, killed the process and deleted Postgres.
I only run it in locally accessible containers now.
I did get an e-mail from the CERT team of the organisation, but I told them what I did to fix it and everything was fine.

Yeah the cheeky cunt took my abby whip and 10m cash.

Yes, my Runescape acc back in like 2007.
That acc was so accomplished, I was so distraught I quit for good.
>>
Yeah i left my server 2012 pc on and remote connections were enabled. Some assbag from russia took over my PC and is probably still hiding in my network, despite formatting and reinstalling.

I live everyday in fear
>>
>>54979037
Not as far as i know.
Computer security was taught to us at like 6th grade (1997 or something).

Because most of these so-called "hackings" are just guessed passwords anyway.

I bet they teach this shit to 1st graders now or even lower since everyone is connected to something these days.

PS. F O E !!
>>
A long time ago I reinstalled Windows 95 and forgot to install antivirus before connecting to the internet. It took about 1 minute and the box was infected. Microsoft quality.

How do you know it was infected if you didn't have antivirus
>>
>>54979201
Sounds like he did you a solid
>>
>>54979286

Maybe so, but it doesn't matter in a time wasting sense because my brother got me into WoW at that point and I played until 2013 when I quit because my raid group disbanded.
I got to spend time with my bro though so it's good.
>>
yes, by myself

>>
Yup
>cant login on my facebook
>account picture set to guy fawkes "anonymous" mask
>Finally manage to reset password, find out they got in my mail too
>obviously a mail I didn't use for any important purpose but I had some gfs nudes in there
>Start sending mails to myself to talk with the hackers
>tell them I don't have any credit card or steam account or anything, they can search all they want
>they send me a mail from an address that resembled my gf mail address but was Gmail instead of Hotmail
>delete it
>never heard of them again

Yeah I had Facebook in 2011
>>
>>54979567
Kinda sucks that you don't take your gf's privacy seriously
>>
Never. I don't even use different passwords. The passwords I do use are just strong, and I use 2FA when available.
>>
>>54979037
No
>>
>>54979037
Some guy from Vietnam SSH'd into my server and downloaded a few files. He forgot to clear the logs though so I got his IP address and ddosed him for weeks.
>>
>>54979037
Only retards get hacked these days. The kind of retards that click on ads and download shady executables like "pccleanerpro.exe" or "batteryboost2016.exe"
>>
>>54979037
No. And I haven't ever gotten a virus since I got my first own PC that nobody else used more than 8 years ago.
I don't know how people get hacked so much. Most hacking happens via phishing and you have to be a special kind of retard to fall for that.

What if you get remotely hacked by exploit tools like Metasploit? Commonsense 2016 just isn't enough these days.

There is a bunch of videos online by Defcon over the exact subject.

I start to wonder if people actually take account in tools like this when they make patches and never versions of O.S. systems.

My GTA V account info was part of a very small leak a while back. Someone took the opportunity to change my name to something to the effect of "HomoFaggot" or something like that, and my description was changed to "I am a homosexual man that enjoys the company of other men in my rosebud".

Thankfully, it was an old, shitty password and email that I don't use for anything else anymore. Even so, it really makes you feel naked to have one of your passwords aired out to the world.

I feel your pain. When they killed off the wildy and everyone was quitting, some insanely rich player just gave me all of his shit for free. After a while, I stopped playing for a bit, and one day a friend of mine said "hey dude, I didn't know you were back on RS!" I wasn't. When I logged on, all of my shit was gone. Feels bad.
>>
>>54981375
How does one get hacked during years of inactivity? Don't they see random password bruteforcing of random people off the bat?
>>
>>54981410
Fucking beats me.
>Jagex
is probably your answer.

That said, I made that RS account when I was a dumb kid, and I used the same exact weak password on several other (sometimes shady) websites. Not really sure how it might have lead back to my RS account of all things, but oh well.

My Twitter was hacked about two years ago and even though I changed password, they were still logged on my profile.

Turns out Twitter doesn't close other sessions when you have a password change.

For this reason, I decided to delete my Twitter account that day. It hasn't been this great loss.

The person lives in the same household.

Been using an old Blackberry phone(with no service) to get through.

Even though my wifi and Bluetooth are almost always off, they managed to connect through network data within range of me since I can't run airplane mode 24/7.

I rarely use wifi.

there was a video, but the song was based on the etrian odyssey games
you would find enemies referred to as FOEs
>FOE is an acronym for Formido Oppugnatura Exsequens in English, or Field On Enemy in Japan
they came to be known by fans as 'fucking overpowered enemies'
there's one on each floor if I remember correctly, and they can wipe you out if you aren't careful

unless you have serious network/system insight tools installed and configured then you won't know if you were hacked unless you lost something valuable. there could be curious hackers in your network/systems RIGHT NOW and you wouldn't know. it's not like there is a little 'SURPRISE! A few years ago I was watching some Area 51 gameplay videos and decided to get it for PC.
Watched he YouTube video of a guy downloading it and playing, leaving same link in his video in the description.

I pursued and donloaded something that made cmd flash. The game never played or opened.

Probably a root kit or something. Whoever it was probably watched me draw MLP porn for a week(MLP before the notorious reboot of the series).

yep.
Dirty russians stole my inactive steam account while I wasn't looking. Logged in one day after not playing anything in almost a year(password unchanged lolwut?) to 20 hours played CS:Source with a cyrillic nick name. Changed the password and got a steam message that roughly translated to "wtf I bought this account, fuck off".

Minutes later my e-mail started spamming garbage to my contacts and I started racing around to change my passwords on everything I could think of.
Few rushed minutes pass, receive "you're fucked asshole" steam message.
Account protection kicks in and notifies me that login access was blocked from within squatlandia.

No trouble since. Felt weird racing to change passwords like I was going to lose my shit if I didn't go fast enough while getting taunted.

Felt closer to hollywood hacker nonsense than I'd like to think possible.

Protip: Always set your e-mail password to something unique from everything else.

had shit email I forgot I signed up for real stuff with.
Tried to sign into steam, said wrong password, I said bullshit and kept trying.
Gave up and went to forgot password, and it gave me pajeets email.
Jokes on them, I had proofs of purchase.
recover my email and see about 14 different countries listed as logged in from.
changed everything and took back all my useless accounts.

This fucker even took a dead ebay account and changed the recovery phone number on ebay.

About 20 minutes on the phone with them and I had all the crap info scrubbed from my account.
Nothing besides my steam had rights to anything. Nothing had any money or purchasing abilities. I got back access to every account.

get shit on scrubs.

You do realize that you can write your custom exploits as metasploit modules right? Professionals use metasploit because it doesn't fucking matter if you attack a network service with a fucking C program or with metasploit, and no sane professional is going to waste their time manually building a fucking packet in C to attack a service.
