First time upgrading my pc other than the gt 620 I had a few years ago. First off a Radeon r9 380x gpu , and if I need more power a corsair 750 watt. After that I'm thinking amd fx8350 8core cpu, since I have amd3+ socket. This sound good? Overkill? I'm estimating 500ish for upgrade. And of course some mounting brackets or whatever for my hard drives laying on top of each other.

Suffer through my 2.02 mb, Current specs Gt 620 gpu, Amd 6300 cpu and a 350 watt power supply.
And two 1tb hard drives. And two 4gb stick of ram.

Instead of the R9 380x buy the upcoming R9 480. You don't need a 750 watt PSU, a 500 W PSU with 80+ efficiency is enough. I would recommend you to get a SSD and install your OS on it, use your current HDD for the rest. I would wait for the ZEN CPU but if you can't wait you should rather gett he AMD FX-4350 over the FX8350. The 8 cores are almost never used, and 4 are more then enough for current applications or games if you are not into vidoe editing and stuff like that.

FX-6300 would be better if you can afford it, but essentially this.
4350 is a dual core in games, and leaves little overhead for background processing like windows tasks and services.
