TTIP will fix that

You can get yourself a cheap, shitty, hot, loud blower-style card like the MSI Aero for the lower RRP, anon. That makes it all okay!

Don't blame us for your government's tax.
>>
>>54922718
tax in EU is ~20% so it should cost 634€ with tax
>>
>>54922761
>tax in EU
And the VAT in your country?
>>
>>54922772
VAT is the tax idiot, there shouldn't be any other tax
>>

>there shouldn't be any other tax
There are no import duties/tax? I know in England there are extra taxes for fuel, tobacco, etc.
>>
>>54922969
There is either VAT or Import tax on a product, both of which are the same percentage usually.

Fuel, tobacco or alcohol get extra taxes, which are independent.

The higher EU price is a mix of additional shipping costs, even shorter supply (Nvidia will most likely keep most of the early stock in the US), and someone trying to make a beefy profit of the few units he got.

When americans are buying $600 gpu
When they press that buy button on newegg or amazon
Do they expect some additional price increase, not counting shipping, but some tax?

or is the $600 the end price?

I thought VAT replaced a sales tax not an import tax.

Newegg: Most people won't pay sales tax

Amazon: Most people do pay sales tax

Generally speaking, the rule is that if the company has a presence in the state that you live in, you have to pay sales tax. Amazon operates literally everywhere, so you end up having to pay sales tax. Newegg only operates in a couple warehouses, so only people who live in like California have to pay tax.

Sales tax amount also depends on the state. In my state, sales tax is about 6%.

This is the card that is supposed to cost $599. Now chill the fuck out.
>>
>>54923024
In the US, advertised prices almost never include sales taxes. This is manly because they vary so much from city to city and state to state.

It's another overpriced glorified memecard.

It's not like it's surprising NVIDIA does it again.

There will be VAT but no import tax between EU countries.
>>
>>54923159
Are they importing them from an EU country? I thought Nvidia and EVGA was American. ASUS and MSI are Asian. Etc.

Right...
>The contents of the competing proposals as well as of the reports on TTIP negotiations are classified from the public,[6] but after a proposed draft was leaked in March 2014,[7] the European Commission launched a public consultation on a limited set of clauses and in January 2015 published parts of an overview;[8] and subsequently increased security over its secrecy.[6]
>The negotiations were planned to be finalized by the end of 2014, but will not be finished until 2019 or 2020, according to economist Hosuk Lee-Makiyama.[5]

That shit will be bad, just have to hope that EU exit will be on the table by that time.

>even if there was it wouldn't explain why amd cards are closer to US MSRP than nvidia's in EU

Cheapest GTX 970 is 299€ where I live and cheapest R9 390 is 309€. How does that compare to US prices?

Shipping costs from where?
Gigabyte, MSI, Asus are all located in Taiwan. They don't ship the cards to the USA and then to the Europe. It's 10000 km by air to either USA or Europe from Taiwan.
