What measures are there that I can utilize which will prevent Microsoft from force upgrading my PC? I've been seeing/hearing people getting fucked by the upgrade after restarting their computers. Pic somewhat related

Don't blindly install all optional updates.There's a support link, read that. If it says upgrade, telemetry then skip it.
This setting should be unchecked in windows update, give me recommended updates as important updates.
Make windows update settings to check before downloading or installing updates.

Deny windows access to the Internets.
Connect your PC via an ethernet cable to a $30 openwrt compatible router. Install privoxy package. Manually set your PC to be in same subnet as router with *no default route*. Give your proxy information to chrome or firefox, never the OS.
