Alright /g/, my uncle is having some legal issues, and he needs to prove his location through 3G data. Is it possible? He didn't call anyone, but almost everyday he used mobile data, is this data still available, and how precise is it?
>>
Just look at google location history.

he uses an iPhone

Well then he's screwed.
>>
>>54865228
Why tho? can't the ISP provide the location based on mobile data usage?
>>
bump for uncle
>>
>>54865263
Nowhere near accurate enough to be evidence of anything. Also, none of that is stored.
>>
Unless he somehow tagged himself in a snapchat or checked in somewhere on Facebook or something I can't think of anything
>>
>>54865583
might be if they need to know he was in a different county.
>>
>>54865624
so is he kill?

The "precise" info about location could be either from the network cells the phone was connected to and the dynamic ip given to the phone by the network operador. In both cases I'm not sure if the network operator could deliver the info if not ordered by a judge
>>
>>54868267
this. the only way you're getting it is if someone court orders it (subpoena, etc) and even if you do get it it isn't proof at all about his actual location.

basically its a waste of time OP, find something else. using network triangulation would get thrown out before even reaching the judge

Triangulation from cell phone towers is used for convictions all the time. He can definitely use it for defense.

Apple also has location services doesn't it?
There must be a record of it somewhere, on apple account, like google has.
