So I want to buy 1070 when it comes out but I don't know if I have the right motherboard for it because I'm a noob with computers.

My motherboard is ASRock z77 Extreme 3

Do I have to buy a new motherboard or is this one ok?

GPU are universal. As long as you have a PCI Express slot, and enough power, you can make it work. The socket of your motherboard (the place where you put the CPU) doesn't matter. Go for it.

Dude, just add all sums up which are labeled with Watt, Watt/hour or wh.
Then Compare.
If your Power supply unit got more You are fine.
