I'm a newbie to computers but was thinking of building one myself. Here are all my parts. Should I change anything or am I good?

Get a used 970 from someone who upgraded to 10 series.

Get a better case. Silverstone, Corsair, Fractal, etc...

Get cheaper ram. Higher speeds make almost no difference.

Pretty bad desu imo. Your CPU can't overclock and you have an overclocking motherboard. For gaming, you're not going to need anything past a i5. 16 GB ram is more than you need, you'll be fine with 8 or 12. And for god's sake DON'T GET THAT HARD DRIVE it's a super slow one meant for remote storage. Get a SSD + 1 TB 7200 rpm hdd. Also, better GPU than 960. Get a R9 390 or used 970 or something.

How big should the ssd be for the os?

A 250gb or so should be plenty for the os and whatever programs assuming you keep your games and other shit on a separate drive
