I hate my life.
I can't find and joy in playing video games, yet all my friends urge me to play at least somthing basic like minecraft.
But let's have the whole story:

>Patents buy first PC (Intel Celeron 4?? MHz, 265 MB RAM, win 98)
>spend time with playing childrens games (point & click)
>become aware of "customization" in win98
>spend time ricing desktop + changing system settings
>got modem when I was 6
>8 Sears old, get UPGRADE
> 680 MHz Intel Pentium 3, 512 MB RAM, w2k (Desktop box)
>get game about technology (about cars, boats and houses)
>get DSL + WiFi
>12 years old
>still no real games
>be programming in VisualBasic
>find MS flight simulator 2002 on sale for 3€
>buy
>become interested in physics simulations
>discover flight gear
> buy New pc, Pentium 4 1.8GHz win XP
>other kids laugh at me for not playing games, I tell them, games are a waste of time
>instead go outside
> years pass
> still haven't player one "real" computer game, instead installed Linux
>learnt C, PHP, bash, bought arduino + be good at school in Maths, Physics, "Computer class" ...
Everyone I know, beides former teachers + parents, everone of my friends want's me to play videogames, but I don't like to do that. I also don't want to tell lies to my friends (that I play games, even though I don't). Why must life be this horrible.
What have I done wrong?
Is this right, or should I just kill self?

You don't NEED to play video games if they seem like a waste of time to you. I have been playing for years since my childhood (4,5) and now I'm not playing as much as I used to.

I recently gave up gaming for good anon, I realised I play out of habit and not pleasure. Honestly the ending of MGSV broke something in me and I've had a hard time with vidya since. I'm currently 12 days without touching any video games. So far people have been more upset that I stopped drinking ~8 months ago but my friends are more normies than /v/idya types.
If you don't enjoy games then don't play them, If your friends can't accept that you just don't enjoy games then they're shitty friends, you shouldn't feel pressured to engage in their hobbies.

Somehow mgsv killed vidya for me too.
Used to play many hours a day, then I lost interest after that game, then my video card died and I play perhaps one hour a month now.
I'm looking forward to play dark souls 3 someday, but I don't have the will right now.
Now I waste my hours ricing my kodi and my movies/anime collection instead.
