It's only $799 now.
>>

Awesome!
Just 20 more years until it's actually affordable!
>>
What is the absolute best e-reader at an affordable price?
>>
>>54731006
Kek
>>
>>54730686

Why is this so expensive?

Who would actually buy this?
>>
>>54730686
what's so special about this ereader? Is it indestructible or something? I still have my kindle keyboard with 3g that I got in like 2012 and the battery is still strong and so are the buttons and the screen..
>>
>>54730686
The feature list looks really nice, but the pricing is effed.
This is why Sony isn't as important as they used to be.
>>
>>54730686
Looks nice, I would buy it for 100-200$
>>
>>54731006
you didn't fall for the teenager job meme did you?

why would your life go like this
>hurr i know i'll work in retail/fast food
>this is a great job to live off of, even as a single guy
>oh god i can't afford anything obama raise minimum wage please i'm not overpaid enough
when it could go like this
>i know, my first job will be at the mill
>i'm making fucking $25 an hour holy shit
>that guy lost his finger this is fucking metal
>i own a subaru WRX made of iPads i'm the god of the fucking middle class
>time to get promoted to floor manager
>>
>>54731092
you should look at their in-car stereo options. The only one that doesn't look like it came straight out of a Michael Bay film is $1500
>>
>>54731186
Nice.
I have a friend who works at a mill, and an uncle who worked at the mill.
The uncle pretty much lead a good life and made more money than most of his college-grad friends.
That being said, I'm going for a career in tech.
>>
>>54731237
Oh I'm familiar with Sony stuff, it's one of my favorite brands, but the past decade and a half they really fucked up.
>>
>>54731283
Remember, you're wasting your life if you can't move up to a position where you never write a single line of code and never deal with a customer unless you intend to.
>>
>>54731084
It's big.

>>54731145
Pretty much. I think it only supports PDF though. Wish it had image support. zip/cbz and rar/cbr would be even better.
>>
>>54731084

It's just a fucking 13" e ink reader.

Sony and their poojet shills seem to think they can charge Apple tier prices for this shit

>muh PDFs

Any tablet will handle PDFs better than this and any other ereader

Maybe if it had color eink it would be worth this, but it's just an oversized Kindle with a pen
>>
>>54731309
what job would let you move to such a position?
>>
>>54731035
A second hand Kindle 4 on eBay
>>
>>54731062
I got one for free from my job because of a "decluttering" initiative. Instead of having too much paper we now have too many wasteful devices.

It's actually pretty sweet, though. Considering my use case I would have paid at least 300 dollarydoos for it. I would pay full price if it had color support.
>>
>>54731062
Also for a law firm this would be worth the money as well
>>
>>54731062
Me
I would buy this
>>
>>54731062
As a research scientist, I would love this. It is a bit too expensive though - I'd go up yo £250 or so.
>>
>>54731922
Any managerial role, any team director role, and, naturally, CEO and MD positions. Form a breakaway as soon as you have a good group.
>>
>>54730686
What's the benefit of e-ink displays?
Low power?
>>
>>54734517
Battery life and not requiring backlighting. It behaves like paper. In the sun you can see the text, it requires light shone on it to see it rather than the LCD typical behaviour of being unusable in sunlight.
>>
>>54730686
Or just purchase 4 used-but-like-new X200T computers and network them, and still have $400 dollars left over for "escort service".

We also know how great Sony product support is, right?
>>
It's a bargain!

On a related note, is anyone here in the market for a kidney?

WEW. I'm glad your parents are doing so well with knowing everything they worked for while be spent by you before they're dead.
>>
>>54735025
They were working too hard to raise him properly.
>>
Why not just get some chinkshit tablet + stylus from Aliexpress or else and have color and every other W10 (cough cough, I know) thing you can do?
>>
>>54730686
At $400 I'd consider it, so it's currently only 100% overpriced.
>>
>>54736490
200 is about the right price.
>>
Who wants to read a 13" book?!?

Very happy with my 6" readers

>>
Maybe if you could fold it in half
>>

>>
why don't more companies make big e readers if it's so cheap to you faggots?
>>
>Not using pdf text reflow on a small kindle
come on /g/
>>
What's a good alternative to this? This would be very useful for note taking
>>
is it actually fast enough for handling pdfs ?

I have this old A4-sized Pocketbook Pro, which supports all formats but is really slow with pdfs. I have to wait several seconds to turn pages. And if it's over 10MB there are random crashes.
