How can a shader be asynchronous?

I'd just like to interject for moment. What you're refering to as Designated, is in fact, LOO/Shitting, or as I've recently taken to calling it, LOO plus POO. Shitting is not a relieving system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning LOO system made useful by the LOO corelibs, towel utilities and vital system components comprising a full load as defined by PENIS.
Many toilet users run a modified version of the LOO system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of LOO which is widely used today is often called Shitting, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the LOO system, developed by the LOO Pajeet.
There really is a LOO and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Shitting is the kernel: the corn in the system that allocates the bodies's resources to the other streets that you run. The kernel is an essential part of a shitting system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete defecation system. LOO is normally used in combination with the POO crapping system: the whole system is basically LOO with POO added, or LOO/POO. All the so-called Shitting designations are really distributions of LOO/POO!

Clearly shaders use to do it incrementally and the fps would go down if it couldn't keep up

The term "shader" has long gone from being a fancy effect you can apply to textures to make them look nicer, to being used for nearly every aspect of a game or other forms of processing. Shader cores were found to have uses outside of the one thing they were designed for, but the name somewhat stuck.
Many shaders do not need to be processed or updated on every frame the game draws, or even be in sync with what's going on screen, so it's beneficial to be able to process them on a separate line from everything else.

The reason you can only use 3.5GB out of 4GB on the 970 is the remaining 500 MB is designated shitting space

i always wondered. Thanks.

Can you give an example of a such shader?

I found something so I answer to myself:
