How fast is java actually?
idk

Very
0.1

Pretty fast once the runtime has finished loading, all the classes are in memory, the jitc has kicked in for the hot paths, and the heap has finished resizing to handle the program allocation pattern.
So, comparable with python for the first few seconds to minutes depending on the problem space, and then quickly speeding up to c++ speeds afterwards
About 10 speeds, as compared to see plus plus at 50 speeds and see sharp at 25 speeds. Depends on the RAM/CPU intensity ratio of the program. I can deduce a private RSA 8192 key given the public key with java in about an hour but with C++ it would be maybe 5 mins, if that gives you an idea

fast enough
2 magmas
100 fast
>>54660046
Magmas are an outdated unit; they don't account for the calculational flux of modern CPUs
about this much

It depends on context.
Real-time system? Not fast enough and non-deterministic gc
However it's plenty fast enough for anything else.

Java is just a shittier Ada.

Full speed on Solaris. Near native on android.
Shit in any VM, just like everything.
