What happened to YouTube Red? Was it a success?
>>
>>54624252

Most likely dead in the water like all recent google endeavours
>>
I use it to play music and videos from Youtube on my phone without the screen being on. RedTube is another application I used for the same purpose but it is honestly clunkier and less reliable than Youtube Red. I also like supporting the good Youtube Content Creaters without disabling AdBlock. And honestly it is only 10 dollars per month which to me is not crazy expensive. Also, you get the first month free.
>>
why would you pay for a service that you can get for free with adblock?

also this >>54624274

>tfw getting paid shit on youtube cause of 2012 CPM change that requires 10 minute long videos daily
>tfw all the top youtube animators quit/quitting or moved to LPs
>tfw an LPs earnings were leaked when he got hacked on youtube/twitter and the hacker posted the earnings for a month (pic related)

>$1.9 million per year
>for playing video games

Good grief.
>>
>>54624650
That's only from youtube ad earnings, not even counting all the merchandise deals from companies he gets (as well as payments for shilling games).
>>
>>54624650
That's not million, yuropoor
>>
>>54624962
Never mind I'm retarded
>>
>>54624579
But do you know how many LPers there are who don't make it? I imagine one out of every 1000 make a dime on that shit. There is no way JewTube gives that much out.
>>
>>54624252
Why would anyone use it when they have adblockers? So they can watch pewdiepie get scared?
>>
>>54624996
A lot of people, especially the kind that frequent YT, don't have nor know about adblockers.
>>
>>54624996
iPhones do not have adblock.
>>
RedTube

Isn't that some porn site?

Ahh shit Freudian slip. I meant Firetube for Android!

I use it and it works well for my interests, reducing data usage.

YouTube red is great cause it allowed for the creation of YouTube background playback. Best possible YouTube experience on any mobile phone is
Stock YouTube + Red
Or for free
Stock YouTube + YouTube adaway + YouTube background playback
>>

That shit it free

>Exclusive to YouTube red originals
Literally what
>>
>>54624579
Get a real job, you filthy whore
>>
>>54625124
Agreed. I don't give a hoot about ad free. If you listen to YouTube often this shit's worth it.
>>
>>54625169
Yea, i can get a real job animating for bigger companies that put the cartoons up on TV for the exact same ad dollar. Brilliant.
>>
>>54625035
Youtube on iphone-safari doesn't get ads anyway.
>>
>>54625035
Used to be true, they do now.

Not for the phone app. That is YouTube red's major selling point.

Wave was actually open sourced and donated to Apache, and can be installed on any server.

Most of the people that make good content have some other way for you to give them money if you want
>you get exclusive access to YouTube Red Originals
>you get free Google Play Music All Access

The fuck is that shit?
>you get offline playback
You can do that since over 6 years ago
>you get to play videos in the background, good for music and ASMR videos
In the android app? you can do that without youtube red.
>>

>YouTube Red
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/YouTube_Red#Content

Like Netflix Originals and Hulu Originals, exclusive original films and series just for subscribers.

>Google Play Music All Access
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Play_Music#Paid_streaming_plan

Unlimited access to over 30 million songs in addition to the 50,000 songs you can upload.

All this for one low price.
>>
>>54625454
>Like Netflix Originals and Hulu Originals, exclusive original films and series just for subscribers.
Why are all of the "series" utter shit? Couldn't they make at least one good?

>Unlimited access to over 30 million songs in addition to the 50,000 songs you can upload.
So just another Spotify copycat

You can't upload songs to Spotify.
>>
>>54624252

Nobody pay real money see Pewdiepie or another "internet celebrity" talking with nasal voice or hilarious faces
>>
I get YT Red for free with Google Music. I suspect that's where a majority of YT subscriptions come from. At $16 a month for 6 people, it's well fucking worth it.
>>

ESL-kun, please take more classes before posting again.

Being an animator is a real job dumbass. Just because daddy beat you up when he saw you drawing and yelled that you're gonna be an engineer-layer-doctor doesn't mean everyone has to.
>>
>>54625554
Why would I need that? If I wanted to upload my songs I would just use any cloud service and something like beat, hell, I can even use soundcloud for that shit.
>>
>>54625554
You also don't need the paid version of play music to upload your own stuff.
>>
>>54624476
>You support creators

Patreon and merchandise

>Exclusive access to Youtube Red Originals

Name a "Youtube Red Original" that's worth paying for

>Free Google Play Music All Access

Spotify says hi

>Offline playback

There's already plenty of programs and even websites to download Youtube videos

>Play the video in the background

I can already do that opening another tab
>>
>>54625970
>I can already do that opening another tab
But can you do it on your smartphone?
>>
>>54625977
Yes, there are third-party apps that let you play Youtube videos in the background.
>>
>>54624252
Background Play is the only reason to get it, but it isn't worth $10.
It performs significantly than the third party apps do, and I'm using it as much as possible during this free trial month before I have to go back to them.

The Youtube Background Play Xposed module does exactly this without being slow and buggy, but my phone (ATT Galaxy S5) is a piece of shit that can't be rooted.
>>
>>54625970
>Spotify
Google Play Music and Spotify costs the same, but Google throws in Youtube Red to try to entice people. It's too bad that Play Music is such a garbage app compared to Spotify.

At any rate the whole "lol I get adfree Youtube without paying anything" is an argument as old as the internet. Why pay for Netflix when you can torrent? Why pay for any music service when you can torrent? With Youtube, you can always donate to your favorite creator's Patreon and block ads but after you block the ads, how many people are honestly going to donate to Patreon when it's easier to simply not do that?

For certain things, Youtube is such a shit platform anyway. If it died tomorrow then maybe some of these Youtubers would actually start their own streaming services instead of suckling the Google teat and whining when their videos get deleted due to a false positive Content ID hit.
>>
>>54625970
>Name a "Youtube Red Original" that's worth paying for

The only content worth watching on YouTube is either put there by major labels, major studios, respected education facilities or is copyright infringement of the aforementioned. There is no "YouTube original content" that is even remotely close to worth watching.

ihave it by proxy, i subscribe to google play music which comes with red automatically, i didn't think anything of it until i used someone's normal youtube and christ i can't imagine putting up with ads again, that said, if i had to cancel the music sub i wouldn't reup just for red
>>
>>54624579

>$168k in 28 days

Given the popularity of redtube they couldn't have thought of a worse name.

I got this today because of my google play music sub. Since I already have ublock, it's kinda pointless. idgaf about "supporting" faggots like pewdiepie.

Offline and background videos on mobile might be nice, I haven't had a chance to try it.
