If I have two audio wires, one for left and the other for right stereo and the speaker only puts out sound on the left channel. Will merging the two wires and placing them so they touch both connectors on the speaker force the left channel's audio through both channels?

It will fuck up your impedance tho.
IF you use 8ohm speakers their impedance wired like that is 4ohms.
So this might not be the best ideal when working with something with a bit of power
