Daily reminder they put scrollbar code in the kernel.
That's why you don't hire pajeets

Absolute disgusting...;

Oh, wow. The user name on all my virtual machines is literally "User".
Good thing I only have Windows VMs out of morbid curiosity, so it doesn't affect me much.
>>54611365
I cannot even comprehend how an issue like that even happens.
>Resolution
>To resolve the issue, do not create a user account contains the string "user" on the computer.
THANK YOU BASED MICROSOFT
You guys probably cannot even imagine how many computers sold with Windows preinstalled (usually second-hand or prebuilts made in a PC shop) have their default user called "user"
>ntfs doesn't allow certain characters
>this fucks up comparability with other os's
>a certain username causes high cpu usage
Shit like this is why I don't use windows, they hired monkeys to make a os that literally 90% of the world uses
This only happens in windows 8.1
Noone uses 8.1 anymore

I am currently looking this up, so this isn't about spoonfeeding me, but are you fucking serious?
Proprietary software businesses almost always favor mediocrity over quality. Their only concern is short term profit.

Yep. It caused a big-ass vuln, too.

>>54613435
haven't there always been similar exploits related to graphic drawing code in the kernel tho?
>>54613435
Holy fuck
And people just blindly trust them
>>54612365
search "one bit to rule them all" on google, and have a good laugh.
It was a vulnerability linked to the GUI components on the windows kernel. Modifying one bit could grant you root access because of that.

This means the installer is going to get extra tricky for Windows 7 and 8 users soon yes? We can't let them avoid such a wonderful upgrade.
28 BACKSPACES
I've always used "User" as my username on windows and I haven't seen this before.

the code behind this gotta be an atrocity.
