CS graduates please come in here, how many years before I can get a consumer version of this tech? will I ever see the age of the holowaifu within my lifetime or is this just museum tech?

CS graduate here. Never seen that in my life. :^)
>>54592826
probably 80±15 years
You'll be dead by then, of course.
>>54593034
I'll get organs/heart transplants, I have to see it, no matter if I die the next day, I must see it.
>>54593018
Are you serious? this is big, it's real holograms, no baby gadgets like the kickstarter crap they show on youtube that isn't even real.
Anne Frank claimed.

>implying CS graduates get to do anything with things like this
This is more EE and theoretical physics kind of stuff.
Holo in the Holocaust

I'd rather a Miku.

okay Krieger

Replace your flesh with synthetics and replace your love with an artificial intelligence.
Maybe you can finally escape being a failure of a human being.

holowaifus are technology
fuck off
I'd settle for AR glasses waifus desu
Probably not with the creepy greenscreen gynoid though

It's easier to build a real life robot waifu or VR waifu than project low res 3d image. The optics needed is too hard and the lasers too powerful.
Robot gfs are better.

Lel wtf, that's pushing hard the vr/ocupas rift meme, I'm rooting for this>>54596579
Chobits when?

Holograms are meh.
Androids > Full dive VR > AR > VR > Holograms

What? We already can project low res 3D images and there is no real life robot waifus around.

Never. It requires a big dangerous lasers so powerful that it turns air into plasma. Not only could this blind you, it generates air pollution(NOx).
If you stay couped up inside with your holowaifu for too long, you will die. Although you probably won't die because it will start to get painful to breath.
Not to mention, the only color you can do is blue, because that's what nitrogen emits when it's excited.

That is not a hologram, that is an AR waifu.

The webm wasn't related to my reply.
These are low res 3D holograms we can currently do:

They are safe and you can touch them.
>>54596833
That's what OP posted. As I pointed out it uses big dangerous lasers that could blind you and cause air pollution. They are safe as long as you wear goggles.
Turning air into plasma produces NOx and ozone, there is no way around this. These compounds are not good for your lungs. Provided the hologram is sufficiently big, these effects will become significant.
Did I mention that you can only do blue, because that's what nitrogen emits when it's excited?

I guess I was wrong then.
I thought maybe this technology is somehow less dangerous because of muh femtosecond lasers.
