I use it. I have no problem with ads as long as they don't open in a new window or pop up in my face. One or two small ads on the side won't hurt me and by simply ignoring them I'm helping to support a service that I use all the time.

Deluge is far better than uTorrent.

Except it's not a service, it's a program for P2P file sharing, i.e. there's absolutely no use of utorrent's ressources past the initial download. >>54592301

Baretorrent was the best.
For the simple user.
It was the smallest and had the least amount of features.
It worked.

It was shutdown though, I use qbit now

There's no better client, qBT is a pain in the ass you need a degree in networking to use it, seriously, it's like they enjoy negative feedback. Though, I'm looking forward to the official Transmission for windows builds, it should be much better and it's leecher-unfriendly, unlike qBT that is basically a leech client, the upload system is total crap doesn't work for shit:
>stalled

No sane seeder ever used qBT only leechers.

pretty much just private trackers seeder person though
>>
>>54593067
Your ratio could be literally 10 times better with any other torrent client. I don't have qBT installed anymore but this is what happened all the time with me:

>add torrent in qBT
>full check ok
>all peers and seeds found
>tracker works
>start seeding
>no upload yet
>go away
>check hours later
>uploaded 15 MB
>status: stalled

>add same torrent in uT 2.2.1
>full check ok
>all peers and seeds found
>tracker works
>start seeding
>immediately starts uploading
>go away
>check hours later
>uploaded 500 MB
>status: working

This happened for hundreds of torrents I had, not just one and not from the same tracker. Though I've to say that I didn't use qBT for like 2 years so I don't know whether they found the bug or not yet, but it was literal shit at the time, there's no fucking excuse for something like this, you can blame the user all you want but it's a fact that this kind of stuff happens (or happened, at least).

Another vote for Transmission. I think Windows even has a Transmission-QT too. But on Linux I tend to use what ever the default is. I've used Ktorrent and if I recall, it has an rss plugin or at least it did at one point. Right now I'm using Deluge and happy with it.

I have serious question here. Why utorrent 2.2.1 (same with 1.8.1) keep downloading something when there are no active torrents and this is actually fresh&clean installation? Is it normal?

I'd like to get the source code for it, I dont' see why bittorrent doesnt just release the source for 2.2.1 since it's basically a discontinued product anyway.

because then people would fork it and not use their botnet client...
