I had this same problem. Create a directory on your C:/ drive called ytdl or whatever and then add that directory to your path. To add to your path right click control panel and select "Advanced system settings", then select "Environment variables..." and scroll down and edit PATH with the new directory.

My laptop randomly starts to read inputs from the S key, and continuously reads that input. Any idea on how to stop and prevent this?
Also, on a related note, when I close my laptop and it goes into sleep mode, it will randomly remove itself from sleep mode due to the above happening. I went into the control panel and delected "allow this device to wake the compute" from the properties menu for the keyboard, but it's still causing it to leave sleep mode.

when editing PATH, pay attention to the seperator (iirc it's ";"), and also to only put the folder path in there (like "c:\ytdl", not "c:\ytdl\youtube-dl.exe")
any executables in that (immediate) folder will become available from anywhere in cmd, without the need to switch to that folder

I have recently unknowingly downloaded some malware and while I have removed some of it (a coin miner), I will obviously never really know if it's all gone. So obviously the best option is to format and re install windows however I have about 3.5TB of shit on HDDs connected to this computer and many collections from music to anime to porn that I have built up over the past 5-6 years and would be a major loss. I've been running a number of malware removal tools but I still feel dirty. Is there any decent way to scan all of my media from a non infected computer and then move it over to a clean install of windows? Or would that still just defeat the purpose of doing a clean install to begin with?
Also I received this email from the guy who distributed this malware (I'm pretty sure that's what it's about because my friend who downloaded the same game also received this email). I thought it would be best to just not reply because he is probably just fishing for replies to target more. That said talking to him would also probably be the only way to actually remove everything but that would obviously just depend on whether he felt like telling me the truth. Ideas?

I recently broke my phone and bought a cheap no name dumb phone as a temporary replacement and to my surprise am actually loving it.
There are two features which I am missing though. I mainly use SMS and the phone has a storage of only a few hundred messages so have to delete them frequently.
The other feature I am missing is that messages are not grouped into conversations.

Anybody have experience with installing custom coolers on GPUs? I have a Powercolor 390 and it gets real hot and loud, and I've looked around at aftermarket air-coolers, but haven't found anything conclusive. I'd prefer to avoid water cooling, but may consider it if people recommend it enough.

Sometimes I see mods distributed for games that are a .dll file that is supposed to be placed in the game directory and gets loaded by the game executable, but oftentimes these .dll files don't actually replace anything in said install directory. So in these cases, how does the game know to load the .dll from the mod I installed?
I was under the impression that unless the .exe actually contained a reference to the library then it wouldn't do anything... Are these files overriding default OS libraries that are called by the .exe or something?

I went to root it and flashed some stock, rooted files with no other changes and for some reason, ever since, my WiFi signal on my phone is really poor. Most of the time it shows zero bars and sometimes I pick it up and it's just not connected at all and takes a while to connect again.
I'm not sure if it's my WiFi or the phone itself. Any ideas? One thing to note is that I'm in the UK and the stock image I flashed was more of a generic one as opposed to a UK one, but that supposedly shouldn't matter

If you're going for a nas drive be sure that the case you're putting it in has as little vibration as possible and isn't subjected to any vibration often. They can easily corrupt data compared to something specifically made to withstand vibration (i.e. WD Black). The WD Black is louder and more expensive per TB (iirc) but it's more resilient than the others especially if you don't have a proper enclosure.

Anyways, go to %appdata% and start wiping anything thats unfamiliar, if you're not sure Google the stuff you're deleting. After that run Malwarebytes just to be safe. Also, check the properties of your Web browser executables and other commonly used applications to check if anything has been changed.
