Because more camera resolution = better editing. Why do you think DSLRs have like 20+MP in resolution instead of say 2MP?
Yes maybe the 8MP fairphone might have better color or white balance but it effectively takes a smaller res photo which cannot be edited as much.
Fact is all phone cameras are dogshit and don't come close to a photo taken by a DSLR otherwise clunky DSLRs would have been finished and bankrupt ages ago like MP3 players. The least you could do is buy a phone with a 13MP or higher camera so you can at least crop/rotate it later without destroying the quality too much.

Yeah the iPhone camera might have better contrast/brightness but that shit can be edited later, the res can't. You can't magically upscale a shitty 8MP iPhone photo to 16MP and get better quality.
