Hello /g/
I am interested in learning UML, do you know any good resource to learn it? Free resources as well as books are welcomed.
>>54546186
Hahahaha, DON'T.
Don't learn UML.
>>54546186
>I am interested in learning UML
You're not.
I had to learn in it in college. Look up books by grady booch and the rational unified process manuals.

>>54546203
why the fuck not? I’m beginning to work on projects that would seriously need some kind of management, and the UML seems to be suited for what I would need.
>>54546234
thanks, I’ll take a look at it
>>54546486
UML is useful. I'm not sure why the other anons were trying to dissuade you from learning it.
I picked it up by studying design patterns. Wikipedia is straight-forward enough.
>>54546234 here.
They are making fun of you because nobody uses UML in industry. It's mainly college theory and I don't think they teach it at the Ivy League CS schools. Also look up pic related, it was another textbook used during classes.
>>54546486
>UML seems to be suited for [project management]
>>54546570
It's not even college theory, most colleges stopped teaching UML ten years ago.
>>54546186
>ITT: fat C NEET fanboys that never wrote anything bigger that a fizz buzz tier program.
Dont listen to those faggots and learn how to properly design your software first. You don't need whole books about UML to do that. Grab a book on design patterns and API design.
>>54546616
>most colleges stopped teaching UML
No.
It would do you more good to read up on test driven design
>>54546616
But that's wrong.
>>54546621
this
>>54546621
What book would you suggest?
>>54546888
>>54547024
It's not.
Just because you two go to some community college stuck in the late 90s doesn't mean that the rest of the world is.
>>54546621
>Don't listen to these retards telling you not to use UML, you should listen to me instead and not use UML
You're an idiot.
>>54547250
>>Don't listen to these retards telling you not to use UML, you should listen to me instead and not use UML
>You're an idiot.
learn to read you turd
>>54546486
Make a diagram that comes out of your own fucking head instead of following some arbitrary standards, you mongoloid
>>54546621
Er, sorry to dissapoint you, but I don’t like C at all, and I’m actually making useful software for my company.
>>54546570
thanks, I’ll take a look at it
Also, lots of fags here seem to have misread what I wrote: I’m not asking about wether I should learn UML or not, but about resources for learning it. Ama…
>>54546186
Dont learn UML, faggot
Not op here but I have to learn UML for my college degree and i'm having a bad time learning this shit, please give me something to help me study. Pls help
>>54546186
UML is really fucking useless. It's a waste of time learning it. I was forced to learn it and have never used it again since I have gotten my degree. Then again it'll probably depend on your place of work, but I'd never use UML for personal projects.
Note that I am not saying that modelling in and of itself is useless.
>>54547665
Don't be retarded, that's it. That's all you need. UML really isn't that hard.
>>54548359
Why would you lie?
>>54547250 said nobody teaches UML anymore.
>>54548379
>Why would you lie?
What are you talking about?
>>54548428
Stop lying. You never had to learn UML for your degree. They don't teach it anymore.
>>54548462
This nigger. I've had my degree for about 3 years and we had to learn it back then. They probably still teach it.
You are retarded.
>>54548509
so you got your A.S. from which community college?
>>54548462
>They don't teach it anymore.
because every college & prof's curriculum is identical and instantly adapts to change in popular opinion
Wtf do your companies use if not UML?
>>54548538
Community college isn't even a thing where I live.
Just remove yourself from the gene pool already
>>54548586
From my experience they just make models that get the point across without wasting time by abiding to UML's arbitrary rules that don't even add anything to the chart.
>>54548623
>non-US higher education
I'm glad you admitted that your degree is irrelevant.
>>54548684
I will let my paycheck be the boss of that, thank you
