Free antivirus are either shit or botnet.
If you don't pay ($$$$) for the full time work that it is to keep a system safe then you don't deserve a safe system and you will not have a safe system.
:^D hope you find what you're looking 4.
>Microshaft Wangblows
>having to download five anti-virus programs because of all the loopholes and exploits in your OS
>pajeet calling to tell you you have a virus and he needs your credit card number
>constantly alert updates suggesting you purchase "pro" versions of this virus software
>constant alert updates suggesting you purchase "wangblows ten", spyware
>javascript and flash and silverlight enabled by default

You get what you deserve bro. :)
HitmanPro and Combofix are the only acceptable answers.

Sorry I was so crass (OP) you know how this board is.
Using Windows is not recommended if you are worried about viruses. If you need a secure system you need to use a linux implementation.
Use Windows for gaymes and wangbong exclusive programs.
Every OS has it's strong and weak points, security is a weak point of windbong.
I use the new version of not being a fucking retard.

Avast. I like it, but I think any free version is going to promote a paid upgrade.
Sad thing is, viruses are such a minor threat for consumers. The real problems right now are malware, crapware, and social engineering. Things which antivirus programs were never meant to protect you from, and are an issue regardless of your OS.

So do you protect yourself, or are you trying to say you fell for Apple's "macs dont get viruses" propoganda?
I use Bitdefender Free
Malwarebytes and MSE, the latter of which is actually worse than having no AV, but I'm too lazy to uninstall
