On my laptop it's a switch, but it's a pressure pad, not a switch... it's basically a light I touch. Basically, it's the same as the power button on a PS4.

So I use an SSD and I've been thinking of dual booting Windows and Linux.
Right now I'm using Windows with secure boot disabled, but I use a little piece of software from MSI that reduces the boot times to roughly 4~5 seconds. I also have installed Windows on a GPT partition table.
Now, which would be the best way to get fast boot times with both systems? I'm most likely going to use an ubuntu spin. Not sure if I should use MBR instead due to compatibility issues. I am not worried about the botnet mind you.

I have a Medion Akoya laptop (yeah, yeah).
I accidentally poured some of my vodka-syrup mix (yes, I'm disgusting) over by flailing around drunkenly and ever since then my track pad has been unreliable. It stops working out of the blue, then works again after a minute, for example. Recently the right button has completely stopped responding, and if I don't turn off the track pad (Fn+F9) shortly after powering on the computer, clicking will not work on ANY mouse connected to the computer.
Is there any way to replace the track pad (and maybe keyboard since the keys are sticky from the sugar)? Alternatively, is there usually a way to disconnect the track pad only without disconnecting the keyboard, so I don't have to hit Fn+F9 every time I boot the laptop?

My current monitor, Acer P203w serve me well since around 2008 or something. But around year ago, I noticed that it start to loudly creak during the night, when the PC is off. Now the noise got more frequent and it need much longer time after turning on to reach proper brightness level (and is still a bit darker than it used to be).
Is this something I might fix on myself or I should think about new monitor? If the second option, is there any good guide for buying monitors with prper price/performance ratio?
