Hey /g/
I want to start a small PC repair business from home in my very small local town. I don't have a business space or anything, I would be going to these peoples' houses OR bringing their PC to my house, if something requires a lot of work.
What do you guys suggest for pricing? I've never actually gone to any business (e.g. Geek Squad) for PC repairs, so I have no idea what the price ranges would even be.
Should I charge per hour or per service? What if I have a crazy virus removal or something that takes 6 hours to kill?
Any advice appreciated. Pic related.
add data recovery >=$100

>os install $20
i would put that up. i charged a guy £90 for a windows install because he thought i was paying a load for a windows key.

I charge like 30-50 for OS install depending on if they have disks or not for drivers.
Very unlikely that you will ever come encounter with a computer that only had malware in it (your 40$ deal). I'd recommend always including a tune-up with the virus removal. They almost always go hand in hand
Os install, with their key 45$ is what I charged.
How much for a blowjob?
BTW, geeksquad charges around 200$ alone for virus removal. They're fucking dirty Jews. Good on you for being a decent human being ;)

If you come to my house, with your finger tips covered in cheeto dust, huffing and wheezing around the place, knocking things over with your enormous circumference, and then spend 2 hours telling me about the beautiful intricacies of the Weaboo Jones Skyrim Mod, and what your Waifu thinks about it, i would expect $100 from you.
Good lucking making out the basement mother fucker.

Fuck you jew, this is why we can't have nice things, idiots shilling even bigger idiots while pajeet makes software like XXX Super PC Optimizer Pro that changes some cpanel feature because 90% of people think cpanel will blow up their PC if they fuck up

Good idea.

Sounds good.

Is tune-up/virus removal for ~$75 about reasonable or should I charge more?
>>54518778
I'll do it for $100.

Holy shit.

What.
>>54518900
What.
>>54519017
What?
You're 10 years late. People care about smartphones now.
>>54519109
Uh.
I live way the fuck out in the country. The old people here, who make up 80% of the population, don't know how to use smartphones. They all have PCs that are filled with garbage that they need fixed.

Do u not see anything wrong with doing this?
>>54519168
What would possibly be wrong about helping people with their broken devices?

OS installs could take time, try making it at least 50. Make 100 bundled with startup optimizer (remove adware n such)
That is what I charge.
>>54519095
Yes. I charged 85$. I'd recommend the same
I charge $20 + parts + $10 per half hour (rounded up) after.
Used to work at a computer repair store
Charged $60 an hour in half-hour increments but in practice we didn't actually charge like that.
Most things ended up $30, $60 if it was a pain, $90-$120 if it took all day.
Not sure about your setup but we would each be working on about 5 machines at a time via KVM switches so there wasn't much time wasted waiting for virus scans or updates.
I suggest you increase data transfer cost as some old ass harddrives (which is what you will be working on most of the time) can sometimes take days to complete.
