the best browser became even better, lads
now with power saving mode
>We are the first major browser to include a dedicated power saving mode, designed to extend your laptop battery life by up to 50% compared with, for example, Google Chrome. Depending on your type of hardware, it can mean several hours more browsing before you need to recharge your laptop.
>The results from testing the power saving feature in this developer release show very promising results. In our test, designed to reflect the way people use browsers in real life, the latest Opera developer version was able to run 50% longer than browsers like Google Chrome on a laptop running Windows 10, 64-bit.

Pajeet, 5 rupees were deposited into your shilling account.
They will fail to compete against safari in osx and edge in windows, chrome is know for it's power hungry outside of chromeos, nothing new here, sadly. Testing methodology is also dumb, ad blocking enabled only in power saving mode (in their tests). So on one hand you have both opera and chrome without ad blocking loading all unnecessarily stuff and on other you have opera with ad blocking on in powersaving mode.
First major browser to be taken over by the chinese.

More important: They updated the built in VPN.
WebRTC is disabled while VPN is active.
VPN can now be activated in Private Browsing windows.
VPN button is always displayed in Private Browsing mode.

What does the power saver setting actually do?
>close last tab
>opens new tab
Why?

Saves power.
>>54510226
Uploads your data to the chinese botnet just a little less, thus saving power.

>mfw just installed latest dev due to this thread
>"VPN works only in the private window." is not default and you can't change it.
Well in trash it goes.
I'm still trying to decide between Opera or Vivaldi.
