So, uh, this is bad, right?
>>54464433
No it is perfectly fine. But if you want even lower temps I suggest you install Gentoo.
>>54464433
I think your max temps are higher than what Intel specifies for the chip. So yeah, that's bad.
>open chassis
>remove fan and heat sink from cpu
>remove smegma from cpu
You can know use it too cook food or make tea.
>>54464433
That's bad, yes. You should stop using stock cooler with overclocked CPU.
>>54464433
Yeah, I have the exact same mobo/gpu/cpu and live in a hot as fuck area and my max temps never get anywhere near that high.
>>54464433
Probably a shitty paste job. Shouldn't have such wide variances between cores and those max temps point to shitty paste job as well.

> SAMSUNG SSD 830 Series
> Not 950 Series
Yeah, that's pretty bad, m8.
>>54468528
>shitty paste job
I love this meme.
water boils at 210 degrees fahrenheit so...
>>54466126
Thanks anon.
>>54466404
It's a Hyper 212 Evo
>>54468528
Geez anon, you always assume the worst. It's a 4-year old computer that has had no problem until now; you could be nice and say the thermal paste just needs changing.

Wasn't around when I built this guy.

Windows 7 is cute!
Too bad she's dying alone now
>>54471199
Lower your voltage. I was running mine at 1.15 for three years thinking that default was fine, and it would spike up to 80c. Learned it shouldn't get that high with a Corsair h60, so I turned it down to maybe 1.05 and it's been comfy at MAYBE 70 ever since.
>>54472499
I'll give this a shot. You say 70-ish idle or under load?
>>54472577
Load. Oddly it's 38-40 idle, it should be low 30s.
>>54464433
Your computer will literally shutdown if your CPU gets too hot to avoid damage. You're fine.
