it was an honorable attempt tbqh. i don't think google expected for it to take the world by storm, they just wanted to put a prototype out on the market and to improve from the feedback. in a sense i think it succeeded.
we will see good AR eventually, maybe even just 5 years away.
They should have taken the Blackberry/GoPro approach. Declare upfront what the "intended market" is for the device and let those users have at it in droves. (None of this exclusive beta test shit.) Then let asshole consumers decide for themselves to blow the money on something not meant for them and make it chic.
