i tried to use python with spark but everyone else just uses scala, just use scala

Scala is amazing. It is the ultimate language.

PySpark is ok, but it won't give you the same flexibility or performance that Scala does. Hell, with the DataFrames API it's not even remotely hard.
For anyone out of the loop, Spark core and libs are written in Scala, but there are multiple language bindings such as Python.
