Past July, it'll automatically remove the money from your credit cards too.

How is this news? They said that upgrades would no longer be free of cost one year from the day of release.

they might just stop calling it 10 and release the stuff they want to get you on as updates
>>

>paying for windows

No regional pricing, no discounts ever, ask for 120 in raw by current rates in any country.
And they wonder why do people pirate windows.
>>
>>54393423
this tbqh
Everyone does regional pricing nowadays

You still can't transfer licence if you change CPU. And some people, including me, want access to dx12 and new CPUs.
>>
>>54393519

You can't, or you "can't"?

Because I used to call Microsoft and use automated prompts to transfer my license, as long as I asserted that it was, in fact, the same computer.

I wonder if my 'activated' install that I didn't actually activate is going to unactivate.
No way am I going to buy that shit for a virtual machine.
>>
>>54393681
What kind of control do you want?
>>
Every new build will be only $29 for the people who already upgraded :^)
The updates will install anyway but you will have to buy a new license and activate it after updating
But you will be able to do this automatically, just provide your credit card info :^)

Their terms say that I can install it on 2 computers. Fucking faggots.

You can transfer the license as long as it's not an OEM-license.

This, you can transfer it freely to new computers at will.

I don't know which one is worse, updating my windows 7 and get that fucking 3gb installer, or disabling update (which I did for the last 2 years) and keep my system vulnerable and I don't know if them free antivirus would be enough to keep me safe

Well you might not think it transfers anon, but my experience says otherwise. Sure it might not auto-activate if I ever clean install again, but fuck it, if that happens and I can't transfer the license I will just install Kubuntu or Ubuntu Gnome or Budgie or some shit and never look back.

Just so you know, though, right in the EULA it says you can transfer your license to new hardware as long as it's only running on one machine.

Dream on. The notification will turn into a literal advert, letting you know where you can buy Windows 10.
>>
>>54393169
Awesome! I've been waiting for a better way to support Microsoft, desu. They really have no good reason to offer much support for Win 10 right now, seeing how it's free. But, if you pay for it, they'll be incentivised to offer better updates and more quality of life upgrades.

Good on you, Microsoft. I hope you're always there to look out for us middle-folk who can't be bothered with all the technical stuff!

ms toolkit

otherwise, use a decent operating system

Last non game software I paid for was windows 95. There is no reason to pay for it, unless they sell a version gutted of all the spy ware, which I doubt they will.
