depends, some desktop motherboards have mSATA slots, others have M.2 slots which are compatible with mSATA cards.

Not necessarily wifi. Though I admit that picture looks to be of a regular 802.11N wifi card nothing fancy at all and it would be far cheaper to get a USB adapter.
