Samsung's 10nm silicon will start shipping in Q4 2016 with Exynos 9 and Snapdragon 830 being manufactured on this process.
Meanwhile, Intel won't ship 10nm chips until H2 2017 starting with Cannonlake.
When were you when Intel finally lost the manufacturing tech leadership it held for more than 30 years?

intels 14nm is denser than samsungs 10nm, and intels 10nm will be denser than samsungs 7nm.
Isn't ibm already dealing with 7nm?

I don't think they are competing

What do you think is going to happen when Samsung suddenly offers Intel-quality fabrication to all the fabless semiconductor companies?
Intel is going to lose the performance advantage they had over competing architectures because of access to better manufacturing process.
Now, Intel has to compete purely on design, and it's easier for smaller competitors that can execute faster than bureaucratic behemoths like Intel to sneak up on them from behind.
Impossiburu. Intel uses tens of billions on R&D and has decades of experience. No one else comes even close. Samshit is just korean chinks who make everything. Intel focuses on semiconductors because that's all they do.

Not happening. x86 is here to stay, and if other manufacturer's x86 performs too well Intel will just do something like they did to AMD with the C++ compiler, and what Nvidia does with Gameworks :^)

m$ forcing 6th gen intel users to upgrade, wat do i do G? ;_;
That's what happens when you ship American innovation and manufacturing abroad.
Pic highly related.

Too bad Samsung's chips can't even compare in terms of performance Intel gives.
Getting a smaller chip doesn't mean shit if it's shit.

Samsung's Exynos chips are probably the market leaders in multi-core performance right now.
They always trade spots with Apple's, but then again Apple makes their chips on Samsung's processes.

They were ahead of samsung in fabrication just a couple years ago
