Isn't Windows running the show when it comes to accessibility?

>>54330618
There's no way there's any form of accessibility support on that DE
>>
>>54330585
Have a blind friend. Can 100% confirm this. Apparently it is the most highly recommended systems and she has an iPhone and a Mac and uses it perfectly.

Windows support is apparently not as good, especially when you use anything non-standard.

Maybe you shouldn't speak about things you don't know about.

What more do you want to know? My post kind of covered that Mac is great for blind users.
>>
>>54330798
I would imagine they use text-to-speech, and possibly speech-to-text software
>>

It definitely sucks.
>>
>>54330814
They have braille machines, there are drivers in the linux source tree.

Seems like it would be more convenient than text to speech.
>>
>>54330585
My wife is blind and uses OS X for the computer but Android for phone. The Android text to speech and speech to text is a lot better according to her.
>>
>>54330692
zip it faggot, osx for the blind? polease, applel cant even get stuff done right for normies. its windows all around just cause the software layer for the impaired is easier to hack ontop of windows (windows itself already has some good bases)

If he says he's legally blind, he's legally blind. What, you think he just went on the internet one day and decided to lie?

Vinux is a Linux distribution which has been specially designed for blind and partially sighted users. Specifically it is a remastered version of the popular Ubuntu distribution and provides users with two screen readers, two full-screen magnifiers, global font-size and colour changing facilities. The system also supports USB Braille displays.

I have a blind friend who uses the text to speech on his android phone, he speeds it up like 100X though so it sounds like total jiberish to anyone else listening. It's gotten to the point where the phone is talking faster than most people can read, I'm amazed at how he's learnt to keep up with it...
>>
>>54331858
This. There is not much I envy but this fast-listening skill is.
>>
Windows and blinds are a perfect combination.

I dont think so i have a blind professor's class and he uses dragon speaking program on windows
>>
Grandfather wasn't 100% blind but used Windows with 300-350% scaling and rubber dots on some keys on the keyboard. Also their's some software that allows you to use a microphone with it and some glasses with a cam that see's what's on the screen and it describes it for you. Don't remember the name of these softwares.
>>
>>54330926
Except it's true.

>its windows all around just cause the software layer for the impaired is easier to hack ontop of windows
like everything else with windows, it's just a hack
