I'd say that having both monitors at the same time is the perfect combination. One for reading and the other for shit and giggles.

16:10 is the best, but only because of the 16:9 standardisation.

$265 for a 1440p 60hz IPS.

Why would I want to spend almost double that just to get another 160 vertical pixels?

You're telling me you'd rather have a 2560xx1600 60hz IPS for $400+ instead of 2x 2560x1440p 60hz IPS?

You're a retard good sir.

That leaves you with just enough vertical pixels for the menu bar. It's genius.
>>
>>54306637
My point is more resolution is always going to be preferable. Even if 16:10 is "better' it's pointless when you're spending DOUBLE just to get it.

You can get double 16:9 which is ALWAYS going to be more useful than a single 16:10, even if your autismo is telling you that 16:10 is better.!1111oneoneONe!

which is why we see so many new 16:10 panels being developed. No one buys them. Even in professional markets, 16:9 is just more economical because all consumer panels are 16:9.

No one pays for 16:10 premium unless they have autism, even in the professional market.

Seriously man, you gotta understand in written and verbal communications there is what is known as hyperbole. It is a type of rhetoric, and something that you really should have had at least a basic understanding of by the time you left 10th grade.
>>
>>54306683
>>54306717
I don't understand why you're going to bat so hard for what is ultimately a cost-cutting measure by manufacturers. The reason 16:10 panels are no longer widely developed is not because "no one buys them." Nobody actually prefers 16:9 for a computer monitor. They're just cheaper to make. Less material, more parts/manufacturing compatibility with television screens. But unless watching movies is all you do with your computer, 16:10 is going to be preferable. Even Apple understands this shit.

And you're exaggerating the costs. I needed to buy a new monitor a month ago and I paid about 50 CAD more for a 16:10 IPS than I would have for and equivalent 16:9. It was well worth it, even on a budget setup.
>>
>>54306775

topkek, thinking an exaggerated visualisation of the earth's topology gives an accurate picture of what it looks like.
Check Wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geoid
The geoid surface is irregular, unlike the reference ellipsoid which is a mathematical idealized representation of the physical Earth, but considerably smoother than Earth's physical surface. Although the physical Earth has excursions of +8,848 m (Mount Everest) and −429 m (Dead Sea), the geoid's variation ranges from −106 to +85 m, less than 200 m total[5] compared to a perfect mathematical ellipsoid

I thought about getting a 34" 3440x1440 21:9 ultrawide.

But turned out 2 2560x1440 was higher resolution, half the price, and had less issues with backlight bleed or games simply not working right.

Sure I have a small bezel in the middle, but meh, still much smaller bezel than my previous setups.

Well im not really using it for games 90% of the time, and also there are plenty of games that dont work on 21:9 or require editing ini files to get it working.

Playing on a single 2560x1440 isn't a huge compromise either.
