Why did Apple kill all their non-iphone products? High end power macs use to be expensive but decent, they had a strong group of users in graphics, video and science who they then proceeded to shit over and drive off the platform the last 7 or 8 years. It would have cost very little to maintain those products compared to the excess money they have.
If normal consumers get bored of Apple they have nothing left.

Precisely this. Absolutely no tech company can be on top forever, it has been proven time and time again. These tech super giants are not sustainable at the level of growth apple has had indefinitely. Much of their profit comes from buzz, and while they have plenty of that, people have seen all of their tricks by now. Releasing a new i-whatever every year with slightly updated features will no longer do it at this point, sure people will buy them, and they will still generate a profit and be a desirable company, but the golden days of apple are over. They would have to completely change up the game, or start offering revolutionary new products not in the same category as their current offerings that generate the same amount of buzz that iphones did when they initially came out. They have proved they can't do this, take the iwatch for example, yeah its neat and gets them profit, but it is no where near as popular as they need a new product to be to sustain the giant.
