Is there a good and fast IDE for website development?
I'm using atom right now but it's a complete joke.

I'm wondering too, i started webdev 4 months ago and i'm using atom.
I dont understand why it's hated but it suits me ok for the moment.
Will i become a bit more efficient if i switch to something else entirely?

What about Brackets? I quite like it

Correct opinions. Though if you're looking to develop in more than just JavaScript you should just get IntelliJ IDEA and use the various plugins to get the functionality of the other IDEs.

What the fuck you need an IDE for website development for.
Just use any text editor and any browser. That is all you need.
>>
>>54234819
you clearly haven't done any serious webdev project before
>>
>>54234849
I have, but that was before all the JS library bullshit. When websites were meant to display information and focused on being light, easy to use and fast.

Sublime is nice and lightweight. The layout is a lot better than Brackets. The default themes are shit though.

Eat a fucking sausage m9-1

Why the fuck would you need an IDE for creating websites?
Normie tier: Sublime/Notepad++
Install Gentoo tier: Nano/vim/emacs

Atom is botnet (buildin Google Analytics)
Sublimefags should kill themselves, everyone who knows at least a bit about actual programming knows why it's retarded to use a propritary editor for anything. Learn Vim like a sane person.

Atom is alright, otherwise I'd recommend Emacs(if you don't mind a steep learning curve). Brackets seems alright.

it's actually open source, interesting.

I would use atom but I don't have an i7 / Xeon
just i5

The thread is about web development.
Personally, I use VS Code. I've been learning emacs and I like it, but VS Code is simple and works well enough
>>
I've been using Brackets for frontend dev at work and it's really nice, install a good linter and minifier from the extension manager and you're golden.

Don't bother with Dreamweaver.
>>
>>54234184
Notepad++
Sublime

you don't need IDE for webdev
if you have pooinloo BE (aka Java) , intellij is good
>>
>>54239358
Considering VS Code is also based on Electron framework, are there any great advantages over Atom?

You forgot your 370 lbs. And the 180k you are making per year are debt, obviously.

Pathetic, really.

I'm shilling IntelliJ when it comes to Java, but I found the HTML editor to be quite lacking, it constantly fucks the indentation up (using it with the grails framwork). Am I the only one with that problem?

Aren't Intellij IDEA have full html, js and other langs. for web building supported? So why going for webstorm anyway?

Atom is great.

You have to remember that the purpose of Atom is primarily web development. So as an editor being able to modify and control it greatly with the language you're using makes it fantastic.
>>
>>54241773
vim is good for terminal stuff and python and whatnot.

I wouldn't use if for webdevelopment, Java, or any large project though.
>>
I'm on the open beta for Atom and it's like double the speed, close to on par with Sublime.

ofc I'm not a webfag so my needs are probably different from yours
>>
>>54234184
I like Brackets
I like Sublime Text better but can't turn of their purchase popups

>>54234184

What's wrong with it? Works great for me. U missin' auto complete?
>>
>>54234521

Webstorm is way too bloated for most web-dev stuff
