So what's the current year opinion on Windows 10?

It seems to be in a weird category. It's not being lumped in with Vista and Windows 8 as being complete shit. But it also hasn't reached the praise of 7 (or even 8.1).
>>
Proprietary spyware garbage.
>>
>>54226384
>But it also hasn't reached the praise of 7 (or even 8.1).
It took a while for XP and 7 to become praised. But only time will tell if 10 will be as well. I see no reason to switch for the moment anyway.
>>
>failing to understand that Windows 7 was Vista SP3
>idiots actually ate this shit up and paid full price for it
>>
I can understand spyware, as long as it's confined to the government, (I understand it, I don't condone it), but I fucking hate the fact that it's adware as well. Fuck that Jew shit. You corporations can't use my computer as a fucking billboard.

Well the biggest thing is the "spying", I even hear normies complaining about that. Personnally I think its all unfounded nonsense. Microsoft has been very clear with what is sent to them and there's no indication that they've been overstepping their bounds.

The other one normies complain about is Microsoft pushing the OS super hard, I agree its annoying but I get where it comes from (want all their users on a single platform to stop something like XP from happening again). And they've published guides on how to stop the popups so just RTFM.

The other minor gripes are inconsistent UI and it "not being ready" like how it was full of bugs on launch.

Personally I upgraded to it just the other day, and think its a fine OS. Defenitely a worthy successor to Windows 7. It has its quirks but really every OS is shit in its own way.
>>
>>54226384
>It's not being lumped in with Vista and Windows 8 as being complete shit
Only because of the massive amount of shilling going on. Windows 10 is actually much worse than Vista and 8 but Microsoft really wants everyone to "upgrade" for some reason.
>>
>>54226384
just make the UI for everything consistent + get edge up to date for fuck sakes
>>
>>54227700
In most cases the Ui is stuck on the project as a last thought before shipping. Its purpose is to give the user access to the underlying functions.
Compare this to the UI being created first, based on user work flows, and the code is written to implement the functions inherent in the UI.
Remember, as far as most users are concerned, the UI is the application.
>>
>So what's the current year opinion on Windows 10?

It makes Microsoft Bob actually useful.

This, except I've never heard normies complain about the "spying". Even the more tech conscious people I know don't really complain about it because they know it's not really a big deal at all.

I really like windows 10. The only issues I have with it are inconsistent UI, I don't know how Microsoft still can't get that right.

>Microsoft has renewed its Privacy Policy and Service Agreement. The new services agreement went into effect on 1 August 2015, a day before the win10 release.

>By default, when signing into Windows with a Microsoft account, Windows syncs some of your settings and data with Microsoft servers, for example “web browser history, favorites, and websites you have open” as well as “saved app, website, mobile hotspot, and Wi-Fi network names and passwords”.

>Windows generates a unique advertising ID for each user on a device. This advertising ID can be used by third parties, such as app developers and advertising networks for profiling purposes.

>When device encryption is on, the BitLocker recovery key for the user’s device is automatically backed up online in the Microsoft OneDrive account.

>To enable Cortana, Microsoft collects and uses data such as your device location, data from your calendar, the apps you use, data from your emails and text messages, who you call, how often you interact with them on your device, your music, alarm settings, whether the lock screen is on, what you view and purchase, your browse and Bing search history, speech data, your voice input, as well your name and nickname, your recent calendar events and the names of the people in your appointments, and information about your contacts including names and nicknames.

>“We will access, disclose and preserve personal data, including your content (such as the content of your emails, other private communications or files in private folders), when we have a good faith belief that doing so is necessary to enforce the terms governing the use of the services".

>Microsoft basically grants itself very broad rights to collect everything you do, say and write with and on your devices in order to sell more targeted advertising or to sell your data to third parties. The company appears to be granting itself the right to share your data either with your consent “or as necessary”.

Windows 10 is shit and all reviews are paid

I can't believe this fucking shit I'm seeing right now. Stellar reviews all over the place for something that is LITERALLY, and by that I mean LITERALLY, LITERALLY the same shit as 8.1 except with a shitty meme start menu, different but still shitty phone tier unusable meme apps, and shitty meme assistant Cortana that mines your useless normie data. Oh, and a fucking ripoff of Expose from 5 year's ago Mac OS but with worse animations.

That wouldn't be all that bad but it is missing many features from Windows 8, most important one being COLORFUL TITLE BARS. Now everything is so white it will burn your retinas off, this is fucking ridiculous, you could always change that color in Vista, 7 and 8 but now you can't anymore because fuck you. You can't even change icon spacing for the desktop or pin shit to the left side of the start menu, if you disable recent apps it just shows empty space... WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU NEED THAT WHEN YOU CAN PIN TILES TO THE RIGHT HOLY SHIT EVERYONE IS GOING TO PIN HIS FAVOURITE APPS THERE GOD FUCKING DAMN IT I'M SO FUCKING TRIGGERED RIGHT NOW. And finally it's still full of fucking duplicated apps/programs like the new shitty settings, inconsistent icons, rough animations, shit's that early as fuck (Edge, are you kidding me with this shit? Literally IE but slightly faster in some shill benchmark and MS Paint built in because that's what everyone wants right? Being able to scribble shit on web pages, what's the fucking point?).

TL;DR I am surrounded by shills how do I stop this?

By the way I'm seriously considering switching to Linux or Mac, this shit is the last straw I'm so fucking done with this shit tier pleb os.

All I find on google are posts about people complaining about how ridiculously over-the-top the Windows update notifications are, to the point where they have to manually audit every single update that gets released to make sure it doesn't include a Windows 10 update trojan.

(Yes, trojan - why else would they hide it under the guise of a “security update” for internet explorer?)
