Deluge

old uTorrent tbqh. But I'm not going to use it if it since it's ancient and possibly has vulnerabilities that will never get patched without updating to new versions
qbittorrent is OK but not anything special. It does the same functionally as most other clients but the UI feels mediocre for some reason. I can't define it all, just the UI is 'off'. The button and font size don't seem right. The tab selector is below the info so I have to look down then up, compared to other clients that put it between the torrent list and the info. There are some other really tiny things that I can't remember that added up to me preferring Deluge.

nevermind, you'll fit in well, degenerate.
A client that doesn't stall. So, not qBittorent.
transmission on os x, transmission qt on windows.

Starting a torrent is slightly harder than double-clicking a torrent file, but for all other purposes it's quite good. The fact that it's server based is what wins it for me.

Using qbittorrent. Haven't tested how much I can customize it, but I like it more than Transmission. It's missing a key feature though. It won't let me right click on a torrent and save the .torrent to my HDD. It only gives me the option to save all of them automatically or all of the ones that I complete. No thanks.
I guess I could try Deluge one day, but isn't it really old and mainly for Linuxtards?

I just fucking fucked myself.
Just finished downloading a torrent that was stuck on 90% for weeks. Then I installed Deluge and ran the same torrent too what options Deluge had. The result? Deluge erased my completed file. Stupid program didn't even fucking check. Now I have to spend another month trying to redownload this shit.

Why ?
Using qBittorrent but uTorrent 2.2.1 still blows everything up
μTorrent 2.2.1, been using it for 5 years without any problems whatsoever and it still blasts any other client.
>>54218070
>hahah i posted the ebin cve mémé again
Your autism aside, it's actually the best client
uTorrent 2.2.1 by default, qBittorrent when I need sequential download (e.g. for previewing movies and checking for quality).
>>54217292
Was it really Deluge's fault? I've never used it, but I can't believe it's such a POS.
>>54217259
install qt4-qtconfig and set theme to gtk+, qt supports gtk themes perfectly, but it will only work if it's compiled with the QGTKSTYLE flag. I think it's that way in Ubuntu, Debian and Arch so maybe you won't have to worry about that.
Utorrent 2.2.1

If you have to spend a month to download something might as well buy it because you got caught by the opportunity cost of dicking around
I used Limewire to get Limewire Pro
Aria2 is decent and even have a few gui.
>>54214632
I use Vuze. I think Vuze is the best, or at least have the best search tools for torrents.
>>54215982
I loved Ktorrent when I used it a long time ago, but isn't it not really up to date? It went ages without an update, though KTorrent 5.0 just released like literally a few days ago, though the homepage doesn't show it (again part of the problem).
How does KTorrent compare to Deluge and Transmission when it comes to protocols and features? Does it respect the private torrent flag? Last I recalled, it didn't have some of the newer features like the arforementioned, but I really hope it has been updated.
>>54221256
I thought I was so smart to do that.

go with qBittorrent

I use qbittorrent, but it's RSS feed isn't the best around compared to other client.
I hear a lot about rtorrent but I never got the WebGUI working.
I used uTorrent for a long time on a xp vm, now I use transmission on a raspberry
qBittorrent is promising and has a nice little UI, though it lacks a couple of features that Transmision and especially Deluge have, most notably a comprehensive IP Blocklist. I cannot understand why the blocklist support is so utterly shitty when other FOSS clients do just fine.
qBT only supports LOCAL, UNCOMPRESSED, MANUALLY UPDATED EVERY SINGLE FUCKING TIME blocklists. Deluge, Transmission, and many others have sane options by comparison - they can use zipped/gzipped lists as well as uncompressed, update both manually as well as auto-scheduled with multiple settings (ie X days, at load etc), and most importantly update from a fucking URL. For fuck's sake qBT is an application for downloading things in a rather complex, distributed way and it can't even download blocklists from a static URL? Fuck.
And no, its foolish to set up PeerBlock or firewall rules as these kind of whole system blocking tools are asinine as I don't want all of those addresses filtered on all applications, just bittorrent Most other clients can offer these features, so its annoying that qBT doesn't seem to. When they change, I'll give them a try again.
Deluge

NTFS compression is a thing if you are on Windows. As for the missing auto-update functionality, it shouldn't be hard to set up a scheduled job to take care of it.
>>54214632
Deluge
>>54222881
NTFS compression is different than simply being able to load/read a zipped/gzipped file from a url somewhere. I'm not sure how to set up a job like that in windows as I'm more familiar with cron in linux, but really now users should not have to go to those lengths to essentially automate a manual update using scripting or whatnot.
Most other FOSS BitTorrent clients going all the way back to Azureus have a simple, full featured blocklist updater, so qBT should have it also. Hell, it isn't like the code in those other clients is obfuscated or locked away, it should be relatively easy for someone with the knowledge to develop qBT to bring it over.
