I'm looking for something as easy to use and secure as Truecrypt was, and which would be Windows and Linux compatible
Any good recommendations?
Ideally we would need to be able to open protected archives that are stored in Dropbox, but from a Linux machine or a Windows machine
Actually Mac support would be a plus also, some of my colleagues have them at home
Veracrypt

thank you very much anon, this sounds very good!

Are there any comparable programs that support Shamir's Secret Sharing?
It would be nice to have...

Glad to know somebody else thinks it's a good solution
I'm still interested in answers to this question tho: >>54199184

>Shamir's Secret Sharing is an algorithm in cryptography created by Adi Shamir. It is a form of secret sharing, where a secret is divided into parts, giving each participant its own unique part, where some of the parts or all of them are needed in order to reconstruct the secret.
>Counting on all participants to combine the secret might be impractical, and therefore sometimes the threshold scheme is used where any k of the parts are sufficient to reconstruct the original secret.

It's too late.

>I don't use Windows so I'm safe!
that's exactly the kind of thinking that makes you less safe than somebody who knows there is a problem and tries to do something about it

>uses OS with spyware
>has <midgetporn.exe> on his windblows pc
>NSAKEY.dll is aware of your file
>encrypts <midgetporn.exe> with <shitcrypt[nsa-verified].exe>
>I'm safe guise!
Meanwhile in linux
>gpg -e midgetporn -r lolguy doc
>can overwrite original datablock of midgetporn with /dev/urandom, no trace
Winfags mad.
What happened to that fork of TrueCrypt?

Looks like development is still active
So, anybody know about a piece of software tha does Shamir's Secret Sharing Scheme (SSSS)?
>>54198682
VeraCrypt is TrueCrypt's replacement. Use that.
Daily reminder that in 99% of cases, the only people who want to encrypt their hard drives are people who have stuff they shouldn't have. (Hint: CP)

do you ever leave your basement?
because if you eventually end up getting a job you'll understand that encryption is not only useful but necessary.

why the fuck would I need it for mac pc linux and need shamir's secret sharing scheme you fucking retard
Bumping for Shamir

Encryption is essential for penetration testers and business personnel.

This
Several persons in my organization are root on the network and have access to some files they have no business having access to.
Unfortunately the owners of those files do not want to have to deal with encrypting/decrypting each file individually when they start their day, so having a Truecrypt-like solution (I WILL look into Veracrypt) sounds really nice.
What also sounds really nice would be Shamir's Shared Secret, that way even if the file owner looses / fails to provide his password, his manager and/or other responsible person(s) can get together and recover the archive

That is an overexageration.

If the Earth was the size of a billiard ball it would be smoother than a billiard ball.
The highest point is Mt Everest at about 5 miles.
The Marianas Trench is about 5 miles deep.
That's about 10 miles in 8000.
