I have nothing against ads per se. Problem is they slow the shit out of my browser and drastically increase page loading time. That's not counting the intrusive ads with sounds which were the bane of my existence before I started using adblocking apps.

Ads are mind control. It doesn't matter if they're "unobtrusive" or if you think you can ignore them, the act of seeing them out of the corner of your eye is enough to slightly influence future purchasing decisions. I would rather not allow people to pay to nudge me into making a decision against my best interests.

I use uBlock Origin because it's supposed to be lighter on system resources. I don't really care if it's really uHide or whatever as long as I don't have to see the ads. Normies prefer adblock so I feel uBlock is one step ahead of the game when websites try to be anti-adblock.

- while I don't mind ads in general as long as they're not intrusive and IN MY FUCKING FACE CONSTANTLY and some websites, like CNN for example, will have HUGE FUCKING BANNER ADS IN MY FUCKING FACE CONSTANTLY - THE SAME AD 8 FUCKING TIMES ACROSS THE PAGE
- I don't like videos that autoplay and while I have Firefox set to not autoplay HTML5 content some of that shit still sneaks through hence uBlock covering the rest that atempt to do so
- I don't mind supporting a site that is ad-revenue based but it's got to be controlled and not intrusive like I just mentioned, they don't have to show fucking gigantic ads and if they say they do they need to partner with some other advertisers
- the difference between browsing with uBlock and the filters I'm using and have created vs browsing in a totally vanilla wide open browser is literally a night and day experience and I'm not a fan of the dark, fuckers
- popups, popunders, popovers, multiple window creation in the background, Javascript code malware taking over browser functionality, all that shit, fuck that
