Never had wet issues, and I live in one the rainiest places in the world. I used to use my iPhone 3gs in the bathtub all the time. Steam never bothered it. Didn't both upgrading my 4s beyond 7.2 as there was no point. Plus I took 2 minutes to jailbreak it mostly so I could have a VPN switch, and bluetooth file transfer which IOS is lacking. Alos have iFile which i rarely use, and iCleaner which again I will rarely use.

I have a MBP for Uni and I like it but I just can't stand iOS. I had a Nexus 7 and the digitizer broke so I decided to get an iPad mini. The browser is so shit that when im using multiple tabs every time I change tabs it has to reload the page. You convert the deb file into an ipa with something like iOS app signer and then you "sideload" it with Xcode. You typically need a Mac or just use a VM and pray it works.

I use it because I'm lazy. I even use fucking iCloud as my mail because I'm one of the fags who used mobile me back then, but they say it pushes mail but it fucking doesn't.
It pushes mails when receiving OK, but when I delete them on my computer it takes 5 hours for them to get deleted on my phone unless I manually reload.

All this means is that both your platforms are shit, and that smartphones are mostly being sold off to consumers who will accept anything with "user experience" as good enough instead of being driven by real world needs like actual computers. To them, it's not a computer, it's a phone with a battery-sapping "toy mode".
