ITT: Post those programs you miss from your more pleb days on Windows, that you think would be a good addition to repos. I've been using almost exclusively Linux for about three years now, and I love it but I still miss things.
Foobar - easy, minimal, no bullshit. Easier to configure than any media player I've used on Linux (currently use Audacious), especially when working with network fileshares for libraries.
Photoshop - I don't even edit photos often, but goddamn is GIMP a hassle. Weird hotkeys and all that.
MKV tools/extract/gui tools in general - I'm not trying to learn an entire fucking book of syntax and options for the command line, I think video tools are by far the most helpful thing to have GUIs for.

wine is OK for most DX9 games. Expect much better performance with a native install or vm with passthrough. Games that render with OpenGL work flawlessly, though. (ex: RAGE, 2009 riddick) It also works really well with older games too, sometimes better than native windows.
Try fucking with wine-staging for that CSMT awesomeness.
It usually works pretty well for most software, though, and integrates nicely with the most desktop environments.

I run gentoo and thats how i got it CS6 working, the big thing was using at least wine version 1.9.5, earlier versions of wine didn't work for me but when I tried that version of wine it worked. Also use winetricks to download some windows files like vcrun2010 vcrun2008 msxml3 gdiplus or some shit like that, i might have the file names wrong but i know i installed some shit with winetricks too. But yea both programs work pretty flawlessly so far. illustrator will sometimes crash on start a couple times but just relaunch it and then it works fine. It's pretty sweet not having to use a vm or dual boot or a different os just to use CS6
