I don't really understand why all of those "men are not doing what we want them to do" books skip the main point of problem. Men, probably for the first time in history, have an option. Never before were there such massive cultures of alternative time spending as we see today in gaming etc. Men for the first time ever look at normal life with house, job and family and realise this is not the only option they have. Nobody poisoned them, nobody twisted them, they just choose another path. We can easily understand the outrage, everything around us needs betas on never-ending treadmill. The issue is that most advanced countries have not really reached those limits of "fullness" neither in population nor social roles.
