It seems like it is too hard to build a browser from scratch without forking an existing product. And then once you fork you are captive to an extent to the original developer's code choices else your codebase will become too incompatible and become out of date since you are just a small fork you don't have enough manpower/money.

/g/ needs to genetically engineer a team of genius aryan programmers with white nationalist ideals who will work for free to create a browser for them.

Works for me. Seems the fastest browser on my pc: 3770k, 780ti, 32GB RAM, Intel 530 SSD, Win7

Chromium and other Chromium based browsers have terryble hardware accelerated video decoding, generally they take all the threads and render my PC useless while loading a few tabs in background, and scrolling on longer pages (VK wall for example) is painfully slow, wheereas Firefox has none of these issues. Even more, e10s seems to make it extremely responsive even under heavy load.
>>

No joke, I sometimes use IE11, so sleak and fast. Perfect when you only want one quick browser window.

oh boy, another freetard post believing his imaginary world is real. Ok..

>Firefox: Ran by SJW
How this affects normies? How this affects you at all?

>Chrome: botnet.
Still falling to the botnet meme? Do you even know what a fucking botnet is? 90% of Chrome's telemetry can be disabled, and most of the people doesn't care, unlike you. It's pretty fast, enough to satisfy most of the people, and has better add-on support than Firefox by now. There is a reason why it has become an standard.

>IE: Dead
Dying, still heavily used in corporations environments.

>Edge: Lack of literally everything.
It fucking sucks and I agree. It's getting extension support soon [TM] but it's too little, too late.

>Everything else: irrelevant.
UC Browser is the most used browser in india and the most used 3rd party browser for mobiles. Opera is the most used in Africa, and their data saving technology is used in Yandex (most used in Russia) and all Xiaomi phones.

>Is internet dead?
Are you fucking stupid? browsers are still important and valuable, just because none of them fulfills your eccentric expectations doesn't mean the rest of the world is unhappy.

>Soon we will have to use an app for every website we want to visit.
Check the webapp technology that Chrome and Opera are working. They are trying to make webpages work more like apps, actually, Chrome has been working on it since a while, with its store.

Mozilla did the same with Firefox OS, but it was a failure, but not because webapps sucks, having a phone without Android/iOS sucks.

SJWs are synonymous with retarded SF hipsters, and those are self-serving retards and shit programmers more interested in "social" features that nobody fucking wants or uses than making a secure and performant browser. When tab groups disappear and you're told to use an addon in the same update they expand a feature nobody uses, that's SJW development. Browser second, "the modern web" first (except, not actually the modern web, because the modern web has everything in the webpage, not the browser, because that allows for more profit)

SJWs who are also retarded SF hipsters are the entire reason everyone uses chrome despite it being botnet.

Maybe because I don't have anything to say about it? any modern pc can handle Chrome's memory consumption, Chrome dev team has been working on reducing it, and they implemented tab hibernation a couple of versions ago.

Then why not stop being a child and give me your arguments why Edge is not faster than Firefox or Chrome instead?

Firefox has been the first browser beaten in the pwn2own. Lack of sandboxing and how the extensions work leaves a lot of open windows for directed attacks. Actually, Mozilla will copy some Google measurements with their extensions' permissions, and they will enforce using extensions only from their website.

Https-everywhere, random agent spoofer, 4chanx and ublock origin are a thing. And for people that hate mozplugger, open with is a thing as well.
A few of these work system wide but are not updated as often that way.

Try to enable hardware acceleration and multi process.

Too bad it's proprietary software. I liked opera 12 when I had shit internet speeds.

Lynx is great but for some things it just doesn't work properly. I would love to use it for youtube and 4chan like i would for everything else if it was possible to properly stream with mpv/youtube-dl from it. For good websites lynx is one of the best browsers, for mediocre websites with good content like the ones i mentioned it is almost unusable.
Anyone got some neat hacks for it? Or for w3m?

In which way is chromes sync the best? FF is really good in that regard.

Maybe if you'd stop using Windows you'd have access to some better web browsers like luakit or xombrero or surf.

I'm currently running this version:
>ChromiumPortable.paf.exe • 50.0.2657.0
and I'm loving it. Am I safe from the botnet though?

I mean, I'll be the first one to admit I'm no computer wizard whatsoever but I'm fairly competent at handling one. Even then I cannot understand any of these things. Not a single one.

What am I supposed to do with all this shit?
Does it have to be on Chromium exclusively and not Chrome?

No. Install a version with e10s, and disable SSL Observatory in your https everywhere addon. Firefox is plenty fast.

I'm using Chromium v50 and that happens too.

The new update is just utter shit. They also decided to reset all user settings and enable garbage like smooth scrolling again.
Not to mention that the autofilling box now has a font in BOLD which cannot be disabled.

Fuck Chrome.

You know what? Edge really isn't that bad.
The extension support is weak, but once that picks up it will be very viable.
I sometimes even use it now when I'm on my Windows machine.

If you have to use Firefox, at least use a fork like Cyberfox.
