Third parties don't extend it, the best at that is Greenify (I saw slight 28 min increase). On Lolipop the battert saver works miracles, w/o it 100% to 0% it would take 4hr 32min; w/ it enable I went from 100 to 0 in 5hr 52min. Not a huge difference but pretty significant.

I don't know. I never draw my battery less then 60% and I'm swapping batteries every two or three days. So I think in emergency the battery should last almost five. And I have two of them of course.

The only way is uninstalling apps. Uninstall Google Play Services, it's a performance and battery disaster. A lot of proprietary apps are malware and keep a constant Internet connection while they don't need too.

I hibernate all third party except for the ones I am constantly using or that need to run in the background for example Spotify, Chrome, File Manager etc. Other crap that doesnt need to be constantly update like News, Weather, GMail etc. I Greenify. Just be careful when you Greenify system apps, that could potentially ruin things. Also using a non-root is pretty lame and you'll get no more than a few minutes in battery saved like every other 3rd party crapps.
