Nice security risk. You should have your home partition mounted as nooexec. The only executable areas on your system should need root permissions to write to.

Get rid of gnome3 and just use a WM if you want to customize heavily. You can try the various bars like tint, lemonbar, i3bar, etc. Messing around with bash scripts and shit. You can pretty much customize anything, just depends on how much effort you put into it I suppose. You can get most of these programs off the aur. And if you need to find something you can google it, fag.

Is it just so that "Gnome" (the DE) is nothing more than a compilation of pre-selected programs, that all together are called the Gnome Desktop Environment? and in this "package" there is a "Gnome WM" included (that can be replaced if the user wants, with i3 as an example)
