He's got an Nvidia GPU. The effective clock speed of the memory doubles not quadruples like AMD cards do.

1.4v is a perfectly safe voltage to run skylake at. Anything higher than 1.45v is dangerous territory.

Please lower that voltage, 1.3V is fine, its not worth 200 MHz.

intel stock vid for skylake is 1.2 - 1.4v's (max is 1.5v's).

many 6700k's come running out of the box at 1.35-1.4v's with stock settings.
>>
>>54020630
>1500mhz
why

>>54020732
Intel recommends a maximum of 1.42 iirc. Some mobos might not be able to handle it too.

i built a custom open case using basic aluminum angle. The cards a spaced out enough for decent air draw. The cards closest to the CPU are the warmest.

MSI Afterburning running them at 100% fan, over clocked all of them running at about 1150MHz on the GPU. Stock memory clock.

current power draw, according to my meter is 1280watts/hr. I have it setup at work-- free electricity.

intel stock range that all motherboard manufacturers have to abide by is 0.55v's to 1.52v's. so motherboards have to be able to handle at least 1.52v's.

i've owned 4 (3x malaysia and 1x vietnam) 6700k's so far myself and every single one at stock settings with stock turbo, nothing manual, nothing changed from reference intel specs, all hit between 1.41 - 1.45v's during normal operation frequently. across both gigabyte and asus boards. check out overclock.net's skylake club and you'll see the same.

skylake is very robust compared to haswell with voltages.

since 1.52's is the max the overclocking community sets the max to 1.45v's to give headroom and stay under the max voltage.

tweaktown has a nice article about it:

>blue is intel's data specs
>green is tweak towns know list of recommended voltages for overclocking
