This problem is not figmentary, I have heard anecdote someone in college has not compiled a program. Whoever is in charge in high schools is not making sure students are exposed to compilers, they just assume nerds will magnitate to it and if there is a mismatch where the aspiring computer geek does not magnitate on their introverted own nobody cares.

Confusing, the term "the shit" is often used in a positive sense like as sex and robbery Are the shit and attending a sensitivity raising conference is not "the shit."

You need to add a qualifier like 'the awful shit' to construct an unambiguous negative.

I've been using Arch for a year on two separate systems and the only time it ever broke was due to a wpa_supplicant upgrade not supporting my wireless card. I just downgraded and in about a day it was patched.

The 'Arch breaks everything' meme is dated as fuck.
>>
I'm almost exclusively on Windows and will be for the foreseeable future, I just got bored using GNU/Linux for so long.
Maybe when Mint 18 lands I'll switch back, but if Cinnamon's compositing is still as slow as ever and I can run KDE with a wayland session, with proprietary nvidia drivers, fuck it I'm switching to Kubuntu.

Last I checked Xubuntu is just ubuntu with XFCE on top, aka GNU/Linux. Please explain how something is more complicated on a GNU/Linux distro than it is on a GNU/Linux distro.

the direct problem here is that while it is true and you can just install the package and be done with it forever, the infinite cop out that an arch turd will say is "well the whole thing runs faster because of the way I've done it". Seen this used in response for phoronix bench test results from all the distros and arch was within 2% of ubuntu.
>But they didn't go far enough, you have to set it all up in my way and then it will be faster for sure! Don't ask me for personal test results though

Overall package installation is faster, both technically and for he user. Users don't have to add a repo for one, which makes the setup faster. Secondly pacman takes care of dependencies and shows minimal output, so its still slightly faster than aptitude.

I keep trying to get into tiling wms but always end up going back to openbox or xfce after a few weeks because I can't be arsed to learn all 9001 short cuts.

I've been trying to switch away from arch for over a year now but always come back because while it's a time sink OS, AUR probably saves me more time than configuring everything consumes.

I've learned python, java, php, ruby and C++ and have forgotten almost all of it because I don't actually code anything because everything either already exists (and is better than what i could make) or is vastly out of my scope.

I am autistic about security and privacy, but turn all my plugins, filters, features, etc off the moment it fucks with me while drunk and/or masturbating.

I took a ccna program at my local college. Took two years to finish due to class structure. Just finished my last semester back in December 2015 and haven't taken my ccna cert exam because I forgot half the stuff I learned during the first two semesters.

The program took so long, multi instructors who taught the course differently, and none of them merged in topics we learned previously into the new topics to to help us retain what we already learned.

i feel as I wasted two years of my life. I should of just purchased the materials myself and learned at home with packet tracer in a few months instead of two years. That way you he knowledge would of still be fresh in my mind.

Now I've all given up on the ccna. I picked up myself a rhcsa/rhce by jang to study for the rhcsa exam. I already use Linux on a daily basis so learning this is a breeze for me.

oh I remember dealing with all those problems. Took me a good 2-3 hours to finally understand what the fuck was going on with installing shit like nvidia drivers (Recently I had to fucking disable ubuntu's unity/light/whatever shit just to install the nvidia driver) which wasn't just a simple run on an executable file or even in the command line which is supposed to be the selling point of it.

Also fuck GRUB2. Only thing I'm glad is that ubuntu works in an external hard drive, it's actually very practical having all my configurations and games on the go, runnable in any computer.

I love the 980ti classy I have now. Shadowplay is unparalleled as a recorder, and my 4690k is buzzing along at 4.6ghz and shit stomps my 9370 in everything I do while running cooler, quieter, on a cheaper motherboard.

I was in denial. There is always Zen I guess. Hoping they swing me back to team red.
